BR: Eli Manning was not voted into the HOF for a second straight year

It's tricky with Eli, obviously. He had a great deep ball, could read defenses, and was even keeled,,, didn't choke too much. Of course it's much easier to do that when you have a balanced team with a great defense and solid running game, unlike anything the QBs in Dallas have had in 30yrs.

The top 10 thing is based entirely on the league enforcing penalties on DBs trying to guard anyone. Passing league QBs cannot be compared to previous QBs using stats.
He didn't pass the eye test either. He's SB success is arguably the result of team play, not elite QB play. Dude was just an average Joe at the position. Peyton is HOFer, not Eli.

He's career is average ** outside of a couple solid SB run. What's so funny abou that?

It's not like he was dominating the league year after year like a HOF player does.

He surprised everyone and came up clutch in a couple of nice SB runs.

That's not what HOF is for, is it? That's where you put the greatest players of all time, not some guy was was average and happens to be Peyton Mannings brother.

It's just not fair to the guys that belong there.

like 7 games in two years and he supposedly is a HOF sure thing

led the league in picks three times

The reason he got numbers was because he played so long

but I sadly agree that with 2 rings and the East Coast Media support plus being a Manning he will eventually get in

I will vomit when that happens
He's def a clutch JAG, but he's still a JAG with a accolades and the right last name. I don't even have anything against him, but there are guys that achieved more and did it more consistantly than Eli Manning.

If you put him in, you should have to induct the entire team and coach.

Okay, so we’re excluding Aikman from the HOF worthiness then based on that criteria?

Before anyone gets on me about this, I KNOW!

But, Eli's career record is 117–117.

Most years he wasn't even considered top 10.

He came up clutch in the biggest opportunities.

Hell, he belongs in just for helping prevent the undefeated Patriots season. He was Brady's kryptonite in the SB.
I’m look

He should never get in unless you are changing the standards.

The helmet catch…clutch?

For the love of god he was an average QB who was the benefactor of two of the most historic defensive playoff runs in NFL history. They gave up just 14 PPG in both runs. Also he got away with some awful throws - literally right in defenders hands that were dropped INT’s and let’s not forget they won an NFC Championship game vs the 49ers on not one but TWO muffed punts in the Red Zone that resulted in scores.

Eli = a very average very fortunate QB.

The HOF has a real problem on their hands with Eli. On one hand his career in no way deserves the HOF but those two SB's he was carried to, and his name will bring a ton of pressure to put him in.

What's it going to be HOF? Credibility or comfort?

A play or two before the Tyree chuck and duck Asanti Samuels dropped the game ending interception. A terrible overthrow by Eli hit Samuels right in the hands and he dropped it.

For me, no. Career .500 record. Only 366 tds despite 8,000 pass attempts. Never All Pro. Only 4 Pro Bowls total.

But they let guys like Lynn Swann in, despite not earning it. (Imo).

But he'll eventually get in, probably...

Maybe to a couple of farm boys on their landlines in Topeka.

Yeah, bud, you “won.”
Good to hear you admit it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The pro-Eli to HOF arguers are pretty pathetic. You present them w/ a mountain of evidence to that contrary, and all they can do is weakly mumble something about 2 super bowls. No matter what you say to them, they just repeat this weak little mantra. It's really sad if you step back and look at it objectively.

And not only that he'll probably get in the Hall (which he unfortunately and eventually will) but that he actually deserves to.

Cowboys fans hate on Eli but you can not tell the story of the NFL without him. It is absurd that he is not in.
