Chadd Cripe of the Idaho Statesman reported that the Cowboys added Moore on Sunday.
The need for quarterback depth arose after the team released Dustin Vaughan and Jameill Showers on Saturday.
While Moore has never established himself as a contributor at the NFL level, it’s hard to argue with his college numbers:
Moore was a two-time WAC Offensive Player of the Year, and he was named the 2011 Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year after Boise State switched conferences. He also finished in the top 10 in Heisman Trophy voting three times and led the Broncos to a 14-0 season and Fiesta Bowl victory over TCU in 2009.
In all, Boise State went 12-1 in 2008, undefeated in 2009, 12-1 in 2010 and 12-1 in 2011 with Moore under center.
He likely won’t see the field for the Cowboys, barring a disastrous spate of injuries at the quarterback position, but Dallas at least knows it has a proven college winner who will be ready in case of emergency.
