Dallas Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain has reportedly been suspended for an entire year after missing another drug test, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (per Max Meyer of NFL.com).

McClain was already serving a 10-game suspension that was set to end Monday. Rapoport offered more details on the potential suspension:

Schefter also reported there are now doubts about McClain's NFL future, adding, "Cowboys owner Jerry Jones already has said McClain would not be back with the team when his suspension was scheduled to end Monday."

"He's in shape," Jones said of McClain on Thursday, per Mike Fisher of CBS DFW. "Rolando is really somebody who helped us when he was here, but I really don't want to get into when or if he might be joining us."

Jones added: "Yes, he does want to play, but there is more detail that I'm not going to get into right now."

McClain, 27, was solid for the Cowboys on the field in 2014 and 2015, registering 161 tackles, three sacks, three interceptions and a forced fumble in 24 games.

But suspensions have mired McClain's career. He was suspended for the first four games of the 2015 season after violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy, the same basis for his 10-game suspension in 2016. In Oakland, he was suspended by the team in 2012 for "conduct detrimental to the team after kicking him out of practice," per Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com.

He was also arrested that year on a number of charges, including assault, and spent 180 days in jail. The Raiders released him in 2013, and he retired in 2014, never playing a game for the Baltimore Ravens, before signing with Dallas in 2014.
