Dallas Cowboys offensive guard Ronald Leary signed his restricted free-agent tender before the 2016 NFL draft in April, but he might not be staying in Dallas for long.

Leary Wants Out of Dallas
Tuesday, May 24
Sources told ESPN.com's Todd Archer on Tuesday that Leary, who hasn't showed up to the team's offseason program, has requested a trade.
After Leary signed his tender, the Cowboys received calls for him during the draft, Dallas executive vice president Stephen Jones told David Helman of the team's official website: "We’ve had calls on him, yeah. If we needed to do something today, we could have. ... Obviously, he’d like to start somewhere, and I don’t blame him for that. I think he’s a starting-caliber offensive guard in this league."
Leary saw his playing time decrease after he started 31 games over a two-year span from 2013 to 2014. He was a part of a Dallas offensive line in 2014 that paved the way for running back DeMarco Murray's league-leading 1,845-yard season while allowing just 30 sacks.
But the emergence of rookie La'el Collins in 2015 unseated Leary from his starting spot at left guard, and he only appeared in four games.
It doesn't look like Leary would start for the Cowboys in 2016 either, as Archer pointed out. Because the Cowboys signed Joe Looney, who could play either guard or center, they could list Leary as inactive because they "generally dress only seven offensive linemen on the 46-man roster," per Archer.
Instead of having Leary sitting inactive—not participating in offseason programs and walking in free agency next year, per Spotrac—the Cowboys should try to get something for him.
An offensive guard who's had regular starting experience in the past could be a hot commodity for teams looking to bolster protection for their biggest playmakers.
