Dallas Cowboys inside linebacker Bradie James met reporters at his locker today by proclaiming ``I know what I'm supposed tosay, but I'm going to deviate it from a little bit.'' He was not kidding.

James laid into the New York Giants, whom the Cowboys will face on Sunday.

``We don't like them, and they don't like us,'' James said. ``There's no way of getting arond that. People have been saying this is their season, what they're playing for. This is our seaosn, too. If we beat these guys, we don't have to worry about them coming back to haunt us.''

James alluded to the 2007 playoffs, when the Giants eliminated the Cowboys.

Felix Jones: No brace, no problem

Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones junked a protective brace on his left knee for the Thanksgiving game against Oakland and produced his best performance since September.

Jones had seven runs for 68 yards. That inlcluded a 46-yard touchdown run. Jones had not had a run of 10-plus yards in his previous three games. His last run of 20-plus yards came in the third game of the season, a win against Carolina. Jones sprained a ligament in the left knee during that game and had lacked explosiveness on his runs.

``I'm very excited to have my health again and be able to play,'' Jones said. ``It was very frustrating.''

Giants thin at running back

Greetings from the Meadowlands. Enjoying the hospitality at the Giants' new training center. Soon after arriving, coach Tom Coughlin was checking on a roster spot for me. Actually, when asked about possible transactions to add depth at running back, he told all reporters: ``We'll just have to see. I'm not sure what you're doing this weekend.''

Slight exaggeration. But the Giants have big questions at running back. Backups Ahmad Bradshaw and Danny Ware missed practice Wednesday, and their status is uncertain for Sunday's game.

Bradshaw did not play in the Giants' loss to Denver on Thanksgiving night because of left ankle and foot problems. Ware, sidelined earlier for five weeks with a dislocated elbow, suffered a concussion against the Broncos.

``I know they're going to go very cautiously here,'' Coughlin said of Ware. ``We'll just have to see.''

Starter Brandon Jacobs is healthy but he hasn't posted a 100-yard game. Fullback Madison Hedgecock and rookie Gartrell Johnson are the only other running backs on the roster.

This group of cowboys are as focused as I have ever seen them. This is about the 2nd or 3rd individual that has brought up the importance of putting these pesky Giants away for good. That is exactly the type of killer instinct these guys need to have to be successful during this time of the year. Now let's hope a difference in mentality will equate to different results in December.

exactly, we are getting real real close to being a very good team

what we need now to happen is this

Romo finally steps up and becomes an elite QB, Roy Williams starts clicking with Romo and we find what routes he is good at and he helps the offense.

The defense keeps growing, maturing.

then, whatever happens this year happens, but if need be, then Jerry Jones can go get a couple of impact players in 2010 like he did in 92 when the cowboys traded for charles haley and thomas everett

this team is getting real close, but still a few impact players away that teams fear

James: Don't downplay December woes
December, 2, 2009 Dec 212:57PM CTComment Email Print Share
By Tim MacMahon

IRVING, Texas -- Unlike his head coach and several teammates, linebacker Bradie James has no interest in downplaying the Dallas Cowboys' recent trend of December downturns.

The Cowboys are 5-10 after the calendar turned to December the last few seasons, including a pair of playoff losses. James sees no reason to dance around the issue.

“There’s no way I can sit back and just forget about what has happened in our past,” James said. “Nobody is exempt from the criticism if you don’t take care of business in December and go to the playoffs and do what we need to do. That’s what time it is now.”

Much like last season, the Cowboys have the most difficult schedule among NFC playoff contenders down the stretch, facing five foes with a combined record of 34-20. James doesn’t want to hear any excuses.

“We need to right the wrong as far as December, because that’s what everybody’s been saying,” James said. “We have a tough schedule in December. There’s no way of getting around that. We won’t be able to get around the schedule that we have, so we’ve got to play one game at a time and go out to play to win.

James is glad that the New York Giants are next on the schedule. The Giants’ playoff win two seasons ago at Texas Stadium still stings for him.

“The only way we can get past that is go beat these guys,” James said. “We’ve got a score to settle.”

There’d be no better way to start a month that has been miserable for the Cowboys in recent memory.

I have to say, I really like the mindset the team seems to be in right now. They seem to be as hungry as I can remember.

Hopefully all this translate positively on the field.

Coughlin was doing his belichick impression today, praising Dallas for everything.

From listening to his press conference you can tell he is doing his underdog, no respect, you cant beat those guys thing. You could tell by the look on his face that he likes the spot their in and because its Dallas he knows all that stuff works this week.

So I love what bradie is saying, I just want the team to be careful over the next two days.

Anything said, will be made into a big deal. Bradie james saying we dont like those guys will now be all over in the ny media. Watch and see.

Just like monday when watkins and mosely were trying to get wade phillips to say something negative about NY.

They dont need to tell us how they feel this week, we know. they need to just go play this game and win it. Dont help the giants out.

Go up there and kick their butt on the line of scrimmage, stop jacobs, dont give up the big play to nicks and steal their heart.

then after the game, say anything you damn well please. But I hope they are cautious the next two days. No need giving those guys up there motivation.

I really hope you have a better reason than "because that's what everybody's been saying," Bradie.
