Nobody should be surprised. The NFL wants to push the ruling back as far as possible to limit the time for Hardy's inevitable appeal to the courts. The NFL wants the court procedures to go into September, October or even November. While that goes on, Hardy doesn't play.

I'm no lawyer, but Hardy and his legal team should be forcing the issue by going to court today to expidite a final ruling.

The commissioner said that a decision on Brady's appeal could come next week some time. If true, what is the Hold up with Greg Hardy's suspension?
Its plain as day what the NFL is doing to Hardy's decision
.http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story...on-tom-brady-new-england-patriots-coming-soon

I have been telling you guys for weeks why. and some of you still refuse to believe that the NFL is out to screw the cowboys yet again.there is no reason it should take going on 7 weeks to tell Hardy he is still suspended. Henderson has know for weeks what he want's to do. this delay is to delay as long as they can Greg Hardy and the NFLPA from getting the case to Court. so it takes going on 7 weeks for Hardy. and 3 weeks for Brady? you have got to be kidding me! WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE ? this is a disgrace. so what if they rule on Hardy a week before Brady? it's still flat out pitiful what they have done to Hardy and the cowboys. it's another slap in the face to Jerry Jones, and the cowboys franchise. and Jerry is just sitting there taking this BS.

Legally, it's not right, but it's going to be hard to generate much outrage for a woman beater.

What I don't understand is if Hardy appeals the NFL decision in court, wouldn't he also ask for a stay on the suspension until it is resolved in court. If I am correct on that, I would assume the court would grant him a stay to prevent the NFL from using a delay tactic to wind up with the same result (or preferred result) of games suspended regardless of the courts ruling. If the NFL tries to push this out into September before issuing the finding of the appeal, then Hardy's attorneys, as you said should, sue the NFL for contempt again and the right to participate in team activities starting with game.

I'm no lawyer either, but I have to believe that Hardy is on solid ground to ensure the suspension is reduced from anywhere between 0 and 4 games regardless of the results of the NFL appeal.

I agree. but why is there no outrage in the media about this. about how inrair it is to Hardy and to the cowboys ? instead you have people like Adam Schefter on ESPN laughter and saying he ask someone in the NFL office is this appeal is going to take until Christmas. and the NFL guy laugh and said Hanukkah. then Schefter and the ESPN host started laughing again. if you are a cowboys fan, this is not funny. it's wrong and a slap in the face. it's a disgrace. and it's hurting the cowboys chance of getting Hardy on the field any time soon.some of you fans better wake up to this BS.

But then they'll look like they condone domestic violence. At least that's what I've heard others say.

Fixed it for ya.

I think in all likelihood if he ends up taking it to court he will be able to get an injunction that allows him to play pending his appeal

I wonder if an injunction would also override Hardy's presence on Goodell's stupid exemption list, which he is technically still on if I remember correctly.

There is no outrage because Hardy is considered a domestic abuser in an era where is actions are unacceptable. Despite being cleared legally, he is perceived as an abuser. So nobody cares if the NFL leaves him out to dry. Right or wrong, many will say he had it coming to him.

That's not necessarily a good thing. If Hardy plays in September and October, and say his court procedings are in late October, he may have to sit out his suspension in November and December, when the Cowboys need him the most. I'd rather have Hardy sit out the beginning of the year.

That's true but while the appeal is pending he may could take the two games that the CBA allows
That would allow more more desirable time to take them
Obviously if he loses his appeal then it would run deep into the season either way
Ideally the league should just follow the CBA, and this could be settled
