I will say this. The guy has gone further than a huge majority of athletes. He's obviously excelled at every level up until the NFL and he's made a lot of money doing it. But sometimes guys just don't have "it." I don't begrudge Weeden, I just don't like him as a football player for my team. I never liked him since before we got him and I don't like him now. I do begrudge the folks that evaluate players like Weeden. I'm sure he wasn't going bombs away in practice but someone thought he'd make an adequate back-up to a 4 billion dollar franchise with SB aspirations. Those folks are the real culprits in my book, not Weeden.

Oh, and Brandon, you've been very lucky. You've hung around despite your record of failure in the NFL and you've made millions doing it. Any of us here should have that kind of "bad" luck.

He flamed out in the majors as well. Physical ability is about 30-40 % of it. See Montana, Manning, Brady, Brees, etc, etc,

The fact he makes himself feel better with luck confirms that and should piss everyone off that we rode any hopes on the loser. As I've said before, He was a progress stopper just like B Johnson and showed to be a turd in preseason and last year. Losers lose and I would have rather at least lost with a young prospect who is at least somewhat mobile

This is the comment that gets him benched. I hope Cassel gets to live his dream as starting QB for the Cowboys. Put in good work Matt so you can help the aid in getting this clown benched.

“Norv Turner told me a long time ago when we were sitting in the [Browns] quarterback meeting, and he said, ‘Brandon, I don’t know what you have done to whoever, but you’ve got the worst luck of any player I have been around.’ I have, ever since I was a little kid,” Weeden said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I don’t know what I did. But it is what it is. I’m never going to lose confidence in my ability. I wouldn’t be here and put in this position if I couldn’t play this position. You’ve just got to clean it up — the little things that maybe I missed today.”

 I wouldn't call getting paid millions to be a backup QB, bad luck, but that's just me...

No, Brandon. We're unlucky. We're unlucky that Orton wanted out of Dallas and forced the Cowboys' hand, leading the Cowboys to sign you. We're unlucky that Romo went down awkwardly while being driven into the turf, breaking his collarbone, leading to you returning to the playing field. We're unlucky that the sun shines so brightly off Garrett's red locks that the Cowboys failed to see what their fans have clearly seen since last preseason, that you suck.

Actually, I think it was when Garrett was trying to pump him up (i.e. vigorously clapped in his direction) on one of those last drives -- Weeden just looked completely downtrodden and gloomy...and you could tell it was pissing Garrett off.

I don't think Weeden really believes either statement.

With that said, I don't hate the dude. He just doesn't have the touch or the processing speed for this level. Seems like a nice guy, and he'll probably make a good HS teacher/coach now that his playing career is just about over. Nothing wrong with that.

"I feel you buddy, you and I are like the little engines that could. I was back up QB too and now just look at me. Just clean it up, we have a big game you're starting in 2 weeks" Coach Garrett

Maybe it's just me, but if someone tells me they have "the worst luck" in any endeavor, and they're serious about it, I'd take their word for it and stay far away from them.

Even if the truth is that they're delusional about why they're performing so poorly, it still screams "stay away!"

But maybe it's just me.

Hindsight's 20/20, but if the defense had played better in ATL or hung onto a couple of those turnovers in ATL, either one of those games was close enough that a rookie mistake over and above the mistakes Weeden made could have cost us a win. Given where we're at, I want us playing the QB least likely to mess anything up. Not saying that's Weeden at this point.

As for these comments, they're stupid of him to say out loud in front of a mic. I still always feel for these guys who aren't good enough instead of getting angry at them for not being better. This dude just can't process information quickly enough, but it's not like he's not been a hard worker and a good teammate. The guys I can't stand are the ones who have everything to work for and are just too lazy or too entitled to earn it. The net result is often the same, but getting pissed at a guy who's trying hard to secure a future and deserve his spot on the team and just can't do it is like insult on injury. Better to put the guy out of his misery and just move on to the next longshot.

As a human i want him to do well in life and suceed. There are alot of bad people in the NFL and weeden isnt one of then. However, as a cowboy fan i want to win so sorry homie.
