Mannion over Hundley........no not even close

I think Brandt was leading the Tom Savage insanity last year.

Part of that is probably his old school scout in him. Mannion can throw the ball in a sterile practice and he probably shows good work on a dry erase. That said practically all the footage I have seen of him has been frightening, especially in terms of how he handles pressure coupled with his immobility.

The idea he is ranked over Hundley is not that telling to me as I think both have serious flaws and you are just choosing to pick your poison. Hundley is a superior athlete and he has big time inaccuracy problems. But he still seems to have more to offer and I don't care for him that much at all.

To me, Mannions upside is that of an adequate backup and if you have a brick pass blocking line in front of him he may be able to keep you competitive in a pinch. But I dont even think our OL is that good. He is Derek Anderson to me, minus the fluke year.

With Hundley, I think his accuracy can improve. What I think makes him a possible even probable is his lack of pocket presense, which I believe can not be improved. I think he can be a 3rd rate starter, similar to a Kaepernick

I thought these two were interesting:

49. Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE, UCLA
Odighizuwa (6-3 1/2, 267 pounds, 4.56 40) had six sacks last season against lesser-ranked players, plus 30 quarterback pressures and 60 tackles.

50. Eric Kendricks, LB, UCLA
Kendricks (6-0 1/4, 232 pounds, 4.59 40) was extremely productive last season, posting 11 games with 10 or more tackles last season and finishing with 146. He also had four sacks, three interceptions and five passes defensed.

I hope Dallas takes neither one at #27.

Gil is better for passing along information than his opinions these days IMO. Still well connected but he was all over Stephen McGee a few years ago.

The biggest surprise inclusion was perhaps TE A.J. Derby.

There are some notable exclusions though like Paul Dawson and Kikaha.

Most of it seems reasonable.

Yes, based on game footage only Dawson would seem to be a top 100 players, but the double whammy of character/work-ethic questions and a terrible combine could keep him from being drafted in the top 100; although, somebody might get a bargain with him, they could also get a complete bust.

Kikaha knee's are rumored to be a problem. I think he's already blown both ACLs.

A couple that seem more accurate than most other rankings.

34. Donovan Smith, OL, Penn State (Most rankings have him way underrated, IMO). This might be slightly high, but I agree with him being before Ogbuehi.

38. Arik Armstead, DT, Oregon (Most ranking have him top 20 which I just don't understand).

A lot of Cowboy fans would have given their left nut for Manziel.

And a good chunk of them could also have been Aggie fans. You have to factor that much in there. The Cowboy fans from Texas are pretty protective of their own.

The only thing worth reading of Brandt's was his mock draft that was influenced heavily by his connections. I don't think he publishes it anymore however.

Yep. Frank Clark in the 3rd is just as good a player as OO.

You guys realize that 30 qb pressures is a pretty incredible stat right? I'm confused as to why people are quoting that little blurb as a negative.

Agreeable, and the more I think about it I don't want OO or Kendricks @ 27.
