Rob Petitti - I ran the gamut on this guy. Was praising him and Big east observations from College. Was roasted at his combine and Senior Bowl weigh ins/injuries in draft zone. Was optimistic at drafting. Was positive on his starting gig.

BUT.......as season wore on, injuries added up and he ran into the Strahans of the world he played at a pretty poor level to finish season. I now step back and will go long on Rob's stock for 2006!

A year wiser, a year in NFL program offseason, hopefully healed. With an improved running game and a 2nd pass catching TE ala Pope or Davis and the offense will kick it up another notch. Petitti has a breakout season!

Marcus Spears - will come back and bookend with Chris Canty as massive and hulking 3-4 DE's. With a beefed up Fergi and new 3-4 NT rotation guy like Ngata/Watson/Mafoeatu - Spears will go off in 2006. PRO BOWL ACCOLADES will start to rhein in for Spears. Our Defense will take the corner to dominant in 2006!

Book it.

I agree. Also look for Ware to be more comfortable as the year goes on and letting his athleticism guide him to the QB. I thin Ware will become what many expected when we watched that Seattle pre-seaon game (pretty sure it was the third game where he went off).

I alos think Keith Davis will 'get it' and become a solid safety. Maybe not a starter, cause I am sure we will go get one somewhere, but if pressed into the starting line-up, I am thinking that we wont notice any drop off, or significantly anyways. I am pulling for Davis.

Lastly, I tthink Jones will rebound with an improved Oline and explode as he should have this year. I think that hes ready to put to bed any 'injury prone' or 'just another RB' labels and become the man in Dallas.

I think Pettiti steps it up. I don't think we have to worry about our tackles. Our FS and LBs on the other hand...

Or pass catching TE...we have a Pro Bowler for that. We need a blocking TE....either resign Campbell or draft one.

You can forget about a guy like Pope or Davis... those guys are 1st/2nd rounders and are physical freaks. There are no tight ends the Cowboys will take a shot at in the draft that will compare.

As far as Pettiti breaking out, it's really a crapshoot. I don't think we can rely on him to do anything after last season. It's nice to assume he'll be suddenly ready in '06, but why take that chance when better options are available?

Your posts are funny. I mean, I'm all for the rah rah stuff, but you make a lot of hollow predictions.

The new NFL you need two pass catching TE's. Line them up and mismatch a secondary. In Bledsoe you have one of the best arms in NFL history - use it!

Campbelll sucks. We never ran with him as our "blocking" TE. Sure as heck didn't have QB's back.....

Go look at when JJ went off in 2004. Campbell was on IR. Good riddance!

Kevin Burnett

Takes the ILB starting spot and makes it his. Becomes an emotional leader in the huddle.

Scott Fujita. He was playing much better at the end of the season. Look for him to break out next year as the starter at either ILB or OLB, depending on which type of linebacker is brought in FA. I expect alot more out of him than I do Burnett.

You must be joking.

According to some people around here, he was awful, terrible and had no business on the football field.

Accordingly to those same people, Burnett is going to start next year. Fujita kept Burnett on the bench this year. Hell even Fowler got more playing time than Burnett. Fujita did not get to attend the Cowboys training camp and yet he was the replacement for Al Singleton.
