What a complete waste of a life. This guy gets a chance to do something that 99% of American males dream about, and he just drinks and smokes it away; can't say I feel sorry for him.

Seriously, who really cares about Brent anymore. He made a huge mistake, accidentally killing his best friend. The team tried to help him best as they could. Brent did not cooperate.

Talent like Brent comes along all the time. He is nothing special. Get rid of him and let both the cowboys and Brent move on.

Judge disagreed with prosecutors last time. I will withhold judgment for the state.

My understanding is thats how they busted him. Judge let him off but they prosecutors made him provide a urine sample which then turned up the marijuana usage ("not likely second hand") in the past 30 days.

The lawyers are now deliberating on how to refute the charge. My money is on a long, peaceful walk through the gardens, not knowing some hooligans were burning some marijuana plants nearby.

Seriously, I never thought he would play for Dallas again, but this is the final nail. Get him out of there Jerry.....

He isn't being condemned for the actual smoking of marijuana, he's being condemned for the idiocy of violating his probation while on bail from a vehicular homicide charge.

I love the herb as much as anyone, but this is just stupid. He should absolutely know better and deserves whatever comes his way for this.

I hate to say this, but the best thing for this young man is to be detained. If this is true, obviously he does not have the self-discipline or strength to tow the path to recovery on his own. Very sad.

"Path to recovery"? He isn't a weed addict. Very few people are actually weed addicts since it's not a physically addicting drug.

He's just an idiot who probably didn't know he was going to be drug tested. He knew he couldn't drink so he likely figured he could get away with smoking instead.

That's ridiculous. Being stoned is just as dangerous as being drunk and driving.

There's no reason this guy couldn't have had a 10-year career as a DT/NT in the NFL. He outplayed Ratliff against the run when on the field. There's no reason he shouldn't amass tens of millions of dollars by the end of his career.

How can someone throw that away by being such an amazingly undisciplined dangerous numbskull?

If someone came up to anyone on this board and said that they would give him $10 million if you would just not smoke weed and not drive drunk I think 100% of us could live with those terms.

You're wrong. Driving high is far less dangerous than driving drunk.

Regardless, the "dangers of drinking" go far beyond just drunk driving. Alcohol kills your liver and people can die from drinking too much. You can't die from smoking weed.

Guy's an idiot.

Everything to lose and can't seem to follow the rules long enough to even see his previous offenses settled.

Horrible judgement. If you can't make the correct decisions when you're going through the process that he is, how is anyone supposed to have confidence that you can make the correct decisions when you aren't in trouble?

That's just not true. There haven't been any studies to back up that claim. When you are impaired, you mind is distracted, reflexes are dulled and reaction times are worse. Smokers may tend to drive slower than drinkers, but the risks are both well beyond any reasonable limit.

Would you want your kid's School Bus driver to be stoned every day?
