For the 40-3 TROUNCING over Minnesota, 3rd consecutive year we've won at Minnesota's home stadium, beaten the Vikings in their house with three different quarterbacks no less. We own that team and have their number, and the Cowboys will always be Kurt Coupons' daddy no matter what.

Maher: 4/4 including a SIXTY yard kick and two from 50+. This was huge in the first half because it shaped the way the game went. Without Maher's accurate kicking, the score stays closer and the Vikings are more inclined to stick to the ground game, exposing our bad run defense. Brett Maher saved our bad run defense by continuing to put points on the board when the offense could not.

Tony Pollard, nearly 200 yards from scrimmage and 2 TDs. The most impressive was running that deep nine route which should be a more regular play in the playbook because he's probably our fastest and best deep WR even though his main position is halfback. He's our Aaron Jones, and Zeke is our AJ Dillon. We should have more plays where Zeke is the tailback and Pollard is lined up wide and runs deep go routes and/or double moves... we should definitely be taking deep shots in the passing game to Pollard on a regular basis.

Honorable mentions:

-Micah Parsons with 2 sacks, 1 takeaway and about a dozen pressures
-Dorance Armstrong with 2 sacks and multiple pressures
-Sam Williams with multiple TFLs on running plays
-Dak didn't throw an interception and played within himself
-Gallup is starting to finally round into form
-Zeke was able to punch it in 2 out of 2 times for TDs and was perfect on short yardage
-Anger didn't have many punts, but when he did he pinned MIN deep inside their own 10
-The offensive line pass protected and run blocked very, very well.

I do think however that Moore got a little too cute and that Parsons shouldn't have played the fourth quarter considering he already had two sacks and we have a game on Turkey day. Since the game is on Turkey Day and the Cowboys typically get carved up like turkeys on Turkey Day almost always, it's an annual tradition.

Not too sure about that.

Pollard ran that from the backfield and had Hicks (a 4.68 forty LB) covering him, I think if he motions out and lines up on the LOS he gets a different matchup and doesn't get nearly that open, especially if Zeke is also on the field. That was just a well-designed play for that situation exploiting the matchup, but it also required good blocking which we got.

Hicks is one of the best coverage LBs in the league and has been a thorn in Dak's side his whole career. Most LBs aren't Micah F. Parsons for cripes sake.

And Dak is not Big Daddy Godgers, but at least they can be the lite versions of them I guess. We can only hope to be almost as good as the legendary Green Bay franchise.

That wasn't meant as a knock on Hicks. And it doesn't matter how good you are in coverage when you're a 4.6 guy chasing a 4.3 guy in that much space.

The point is that Pollard is indeed a 4.3 and should be used more like Tyreek Hill than just banging him into DTs the whole game.

And my point is that he makes that play because it's a linebacker covering him. You can't compare his route running to Tyreek Hill who burns corners for fun. Besides, Pollard rarely stays in to block, I'd guesstimate it's less than 10% of snaps that he's in pass protection at the moment.

So fine... bring in Zeke or Malik Davis and Pollard at the same time. If the defense wants to go big and pack the box? Spread out Pollard to the outside and make his man, typically a LB or slower SS type, cover him deep. If the defense goes small? Run all day long.

Micah could have had 3 sacks, but he let Kirk go, thinking he'd already thrown the ball.

I was yelling at the TV when Parsons was back in the game after coming up lame, when we had the game well in hand.

Incorrect...

He got a sack a couple plays later. If he had gotten that other sack on the play you're talking about, he wouldn't have had a chance to get the third since it was on the same drive and the Vikings would have likely gone with a quick hitter more conservative play

"would have likely"...and I said "could have had 3 sacks". So while there's a strong possibility it would have created a paradigm shift, to call it "incorrect" is presumptuous.

I'm not convinced that's a good formation for us.

It leaves us with the same number of blockers as 11 personnel unless Zeke is lead-blocking as a fullback (rare). I think most teams roll the dice and just come out in nickel unless it's a clear short-yardage situation. The ramifications of this are that if you flex Pollard out, he's matched up against the opposition's Jourdan Lewis equivalent who shouldn't have issues covering him. Certainly, as a formation, I think that's much less favorable to 12 personnel where the run is a bigger threat and if you flex out Pollard then we're seeing better matchups.

We could do 22 personnel and have Schultz and Pollard run the deep routes, Lamb run something intermediate, Zeke block or be the checkdown and Ferguson or Hendershot stay in to block too
