Brian Dawkins to give tickets to fired Eagles employee
By Chris Chase
Fri Apr 03, 2009

Last month, Dan Leone was fired from his part-time job with the Philadelphia Eagles after criticizing the team for letting veteran Brian Dawkins leave via free agency. Leone was a seasonal game day employee, which meant he worked during the Eagles' 10 home dates each season. His termination meant he would have been unlikely to attend any of those games in 2009. But now help is coming from an unexpected source.

Dawkins signed with the Denver Broncos, who happen to be playing in Philly this season. Since each visiting player gets two tickets to away games, the 35-year-old defensive back decided to give his allotment for the contest in Philadephia to Leone. Dawkins told the Philadelphia Daily News:

"I thought it'd be a good gesture. Had I not ... signed with Denver, that guy would still have his job. Obviously, he made a decision and out of emotion said something. He was one of probably thousands and thousands of Eagles fans who felt that way. That didn't surprise me, that someone said that on their Facebook. It did surprise me that he was let go, though ... I felt it would be a good thing, to reach out to that individual and just let him know how much I appreciate it.''

Well played, Brian Dawkins. It's becoming clear to see why most people in Philly didn't want to see a class act like Dawkins leave town.

A "class act" leaving Philly is like Pam Anderson leaving the National Organization of Women......................There are no "class acts" in Philly. If you LEAVE, like Dawkins, then you might get a little cred...............

None the less, I'm pleased that Dawkins, the only thing I respect out of Philthy, ending his career at another place. Eagle Phans deserve nothing less than the ONLY guy they had even approaching respectable to be gone.

Maybe, after this move by Dawkins, it shows that a guy like this NEVER should've ever been in a gutter hole like Philly to begin with. Because "class" and "professional" and "a real pro" don't mesh with anything "Eagle".

Good for Dawkins, and the hell with Eagle fans...............................

Brian Dawkins to give tickets to fan fired after Facebook message
New Broncos safety Brian Dawkins is rewarding the faith of one of his down-on-his-luck fans.

Dawkins, who joined the Denver as a free agent after a 13-year career in Philadelphia, will donate two tickets to the Broncos' game in Philadelphia this year to former Eagles employee Dan Leone, who was fired after posting an angry message about Dawkins' departure on his Facebook page last month.

After Dawkins signed with the Broncos on Feb. 28, Leone wrote on his Facebook page, "Dan is [expletive] devastated about Dawkins signing with Denver ... Dam Eagles R Retarted [sic]!!"

The team fired him from his post as the west gate chief at Lincoln Financial Field. Dawkins, who said in late January that he had expected he would remain with the Eagles, said he wanted to show his gratitude to Leone for caring.

"I thought it'd be a good gesture,'' Dawkins told the Philadelphia Inquirer. "Had I not . . . signed with Denver, that guy would still have his job. Obviously, he made a decision and out of emotion said something. He was one of probably thousands and thousands of Eagles fans who felt that way. That didn't surprise me, that someone said that on their Facebook. It did surprise me that he was let go, though. That really did surprise me.

"I felt it would be a good thing, to reach out to that individual and just let him know how much I appreciate it.''

Kyle Orton will probably have a great game and torch the depleted Eagles secondary. :lmao2:

Dawkins gives the middle finger to the Eagles again... lol

I was thinking he was going to pay for the guy to have season tickets. Now that would be something.
