Especially playing in the Fall, now if they played in the spring, id give them a chance.

I know. Playing against NFL and NCAA? In the spring I think people would watch it, but not over the other two in the fall. It will fold after its first year :thumbdo: :bomb:

I agree, I'm so desperate for football in the spring, I'd probably watch anything.

Wow that is a huge step down from what he was doing. People in the NFL must have really thought he completely sucked if they wouldn't give him a chance anywhere else as any type of coach.

Or maybe he just didn't like whatever few offers where there and liked this better cause he still got to be a DC. *Shrugs* I don't know but either way it's a sad step down.

Ugh yeah. I'm hardly a DC or even much of a Madden player, but who plays DBs yards off against a team that thrives on short to intermediate passes. Between Garrett's refusal to run and his downright awful defensive scheming we lost to the Commanders in Texas Stadium purely from the sidelines.

He had no business working for us in that capacity... Shouldn't have been calling plays. I'm glad he's found work too but this is just an indigtment to how underqualified he was for that position.

My favorite Stewart moment of the year... We made a huge goal line stand, I believe in Pittsburgh and after 4th down our guys came off the field fired up. Stewart went to go meet them half way to high five and congratulate them - they all ran right by him and didn't even acknowledge him.

Again, I'm super happy he found work but I hated the idea of having a Manchurian coordinator.

The need to gain experience is underrated by some on here...

It doesn't pass me by. In my industry, I have found some people with masters degrees in CS that are absolutely clueless about what it takes to run a enterprise infrastructure. I have a guy working for me that didn't finish high school, but I trust him managing my infrastructure because he knows what he is doing. He knows it because has been doing it for 10 years.

When hiring someone, experience is the first thing I look for. A lot of companies brass go the other route. They look for a degree first, then experience. Many times, they hire me to fix the mess afterwards. ;)

No one can be a good coach running someone else defense with them standing over your shoulder, they never gave him a chance to be a coach. But then that's Jerry style.12 years and counting. no playoff wins!

I wouldn't really blame Jerry on this one. Brian was handpicked by Wade. Wade was hired because he's supposed to be a 3-4 defensive guru, yet he turned the defense over to a neophyte. Now though, I do blame Jerry for the dumb Wade hire.

I wish Stewart the best and hope he finds his way back to the NFL one day. I have seen bigger names than Stewart fail in the NFL as a coach.

Spurrier and Holtz as well. Things did not work out for Stewart so you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back to it. He is getting back to coaching and if things work out for him he may one day gets another opportunity in the NFL. It seems some feel that you should just crawl into a hole and die because you failed.

Not at all. I think he's now where he belongs.

He is where he belongs for now. Stewart is a young coach he has time on his side. If he goes out and has success at this stop it could open the doors to other opportunities.
