I don't know if this is true or not, but I hope it is. I'm not a very educated fan (as far as who is who and who is where), but I know that I've never seen a defense look more confused on the field than ours. Everytime I see Anthony Henry it looks like he has no idea where in the hell he is supposed to be. I see that with the safeties too. And why is it so easy to complete a slant or a dig route on us? Where is the linebacker help? You cant blame the safeties for that. Why does our defense always look confused? Are they being coached properly on where they're supposed to be? They seem like they either dont get the system, or they dont believe in it. Either way, to me, thats on the defensive coordinator. We have twice the talent that Phillps had in San Diego 3 years ago, and half of the production. When you have several talented players on one side of the ball that are underachieving, then something needs to be done. Coach Stewart needs to spend more time on technique, or more time chalk talkin it up with his guys. Because this is bull****. We have problems on offense and certainly special teams, but in my opinion our biggest problem is this defense. And its not just this season. We couldnt stop Green Bay last year. They picked us apart. Too many blown coverages. Too many missed tackles. The talent we have on this defense, it should be carrying this team, not trying to keep up with it. If I was the O-coordinator for Tampa Bay, I would be licking my chops right now.
