Would trading for him, and starting him at left guard shore up this offensive line?

I know we're for the most part pleased with Kosier. But with what we're paying him, he doesn't NEED to start this year. And he would be excellent depth. And could replace Rivera next year probably.

Adams (McQuistan) - Davis - Gurode - Rivera - Colombo

I think this really saves us a draft pick for next year. I would say a 2nd, or probably 3rd round draft pick, and a new contract, and this would be a really good deal for us.

If we were to do this, he would replace Rivera. Why would he replace the guard that is actually playing half way worth a darn?

Actually Rivera is playing REALLY well...

That whole right side is playing really well as is Gurode. It has been the left side of the line that has given us trouble this year.

If we could get him for a 4th, and resign him before trading for him. That would be a major cue for our offense.

You think Rivera is out playing Kosier (sp)? If so we have to agree to disagree on this one.

If the Cowboys were going to attempt to trade for an O-Lineman ... I'd like to see them inquire about Eric Steinbach. ... The Bengals have said they feel Andrews can play LG and Steinbach is a UFA at the end of this year. Lewis also expressed that he wants to re-sign Willie Anderson and last I heard, any talks with Steinbach's agent were not going well at all.

The pluses of Steinbach.....

- He's only 25/26 y.o.

- He was a pro bowl alternate at LG last year.

- He's athletic and moves well.

- He can play ANY OL position including center ... and was the Bengals b/u at LT last year.

Matter of fact ... given his very good footwork and agility, he may be a good fit at LT.

I'd take Steinbach in a heartbeat....

Picking up Steinbach does seem to be a good idea but again which OL do we get rid of. For the most part (not Eagles game) Kosier has been playing well; Riveria's play has not been as well but apparently is improving. Our weakest link seems to be at LT and also probably we need to develop more continuity on the OL. These guys have only played together for 5 NFL games. Any way it seems to me that Adams is our weakest link against the better teams so how does picking up Steinbach help us there. Now if we think he can legitimately replace Adams asap, I'd pick him up and sit Adams and see how he does. If he does well, I'd cut Fabini (even if we guarantee his salary rest of year) or some other player who not doing well.

Kosier has played well. His only off game was in Philly -- he and Flo were not at all on the same page there. Kosier has been very good otherwise.

Oh yeah. For those of you who haven't been paying attention, very little usually happens at the NFL trading deadline. Further, you can just plug in a new player into an OL unit and expect some magical improvement - O-lines are all about playing together long enough to gel. If we were to replace someone it would have to be with a guy who played in TC and preseason.
