Broaddus "I think you got Jerry Jones' attention"

Imagine telling people who are counting on you, that despite being 83, and despite having failed 30 straight years, that at 84 on the 31st try you’re going to get it right…THIS time!
Keep swinging that pick axe.....

Like many fans, I'm just losing interest.

This season had better get his attention!

These guys are idiots and any Arlington Jonesboys fan that thinks Jerry Dumbo GM Jones is going to give you a NFC Championship qualifying team has drunk so much kool aid for 30 years they have drowned in it.

Look at all the ex Jonesboys defensive players he has let go, traded away, or cut that or on playoff team rosters right now i.e. Damone Clark Texans, Micah Parsons Packers, Trevon Diggs Packers, Demarcus Lawrence Seahawks, Jourdan Lewis Jaguars, Nashon Wright Bears...

I know some are injured but they contributed to their teams and those teams are in the playoffs where the Jonesboys are not.

Its going to be the same type of offseason its always been

A DC hire they are familiar with
Bargain bin shopping in free agency
Draft two defenders in the first round
Build up hype that these changes are enough for us to make the playoffs
I think you are wrong with some of this. I think the DC is not gonna be a typical pick. It isn't going to be a retread. That alone makes it different. Free agency comes before the draft, so it is possible they will make some moves that make it possible they don't go defense in both spots.

Free agency is hard to say. Somehow we are 40m over the cap at the minute. Not sure how that happened. But moves will be made to fix that.

Steele....cut saves $8.75m
Hooker....cut saves $7m
Wilson.....cut saves $6.5m or can be restructured and save $2.4m
Up to $22.5m available and not really any impact on the team.

Restructures have a lot of options
Dak - $31m
Lamb - $19m
Williams - $14.5m
Osa - $12m
Smith - $17.6m
Bland - $8.6m
Ferguson- $4.8
Clark - $9.6m
That's $117.1m in space through restructures. Pretty much all of these guys are ones you will keep for at least several years so they are likely to used them as needed.

Upwards of $140m can be made, giving us about $100m to spend if we wanted. Over the cap says the max savings through restructures is $153m. I only marked ones I felt would make sense. . All this restructuring and we would only have about the 20th most space available.

ERFA Butler, Steward, Thomas all resigned.
RFA Aubrey, Hoffman, and Bass resigned.

Pickens, Clowney, and Williams are most likely to be resigned.

Still leaves us with big holes in the roster. DE would be weak, CB would be weak, LB and S weak. Free agency doesn't look strong at our positions of weakness. Honestly, FA overall looks pretty underwhelming...like there really aren't any guys you would want to throw money at.

It really looks like the most likely route for improvement on defense is a better scheme and playcalling, rookie additions, and then maybe free agency. The first round does look to have some pass rushing help and secondary help. We don't have second or third rounders.

It also doesn't look like we will get much if anything in compensatory picks as we have no top level free agents that we will lose unless it is Pickens. Best we could get from that is a late 3rd rounder I believe so he will either be signed long term, franchised and kept, or franchised and traded for something better than a third. J. Williams would be possible for a mid tier contract, can't really see anyone else that would bring anything of significance.

With new advances from AI, I can see him living to 147.
Oh man, imagine if they have AI study every Jerry decision and press conference to create a JerryGM AI model?

They could have JerryGM run the team infinitely!

That reminded me of that old movie "They Saved Hitler's Brain"

Just a fake little black mini mustache put on Jerry and his skull can run the team in perpetuity.
