Broaddus on Free

I miss Free.

Parnell hasn't been atrocious, but he's not as nimble as Free is. On Witten's shovel pass Parnell wasn't quick enough to get to the LB, which is why that play failed. Thought he got away with a hold on that final offensive possession as well.

Not good to hear. Parnell tries but bad technique vs both run and pass compared to Free. There's a drop off.

That said, aside from today, offense has been rolling. I don't think Green Bay is so good off the edges that Parnell will matter. You can always help him out with the TE.

Peppers and Mathews beg to differ

When has Broaddus been right about anything this year?

I like Broaddus but he can be a bit egotistical at times which is somewhat annoying and he constantly finds ways to point out the bad about the Boyz when analyzing their upcoming opponent. Some times it seems like he has a ax to grind and takes shots indirectly. You definitely have to filter his info. Just my opinion on him.

Doesn't sound good for next week...................I agree with everybody about Parnell, he is just not as good as Free.

Peppers and Mathews beg to differ

They can beg all they want. Matthews was moved inside in their base D two months ago. Up until 4 weeks ago he had 4.5 sacks. And the Peppers you're thinking of is from 2012. He's a Mincey level player at this point and splits time.

I think they'd only to do that if there was zero chance he could return before the SB. Realistically who else could be brought up to take his place and contribute on the 46-man active roster.

You just wait and hope he can come back. If he can't then Parnell plays.

I have a gut feeling based on the way this FO has gone about things the last few years that they'll only bring back Free if there isn't much demand for him and they can get him cheap. They seem to deplore paying age. They didn't pay Hatcher last year after 3 straight Pro Bowl caliber years including a double-digit sack year at DT.

I do hope Free gets healthy and can contribute. He has been a major cog in that OL.

Parnell has more upside -- hasn't really been doin this too long, so should be at least equal to Free next year. Already has better upper body strength.

Free would be on IR if he didn't have a chance to contribute, so a couple of weeks' rest and he may be able to go, at least splitting time.
Half of the linemen over 27 in the league have bone spurs; they play through it, and get cleaned up in the offseason.

Free's been a great leader, and may be retained for mixed duty if he gets a good medical report and the price is right.
