Am I missing something? Wasn't Charles Woodson drafted in the 90s and Parcells didn't coach around here till 2003
It was when he was a free agent.

Don't ask me why or how a lower level scout and a head coach would be butting heads about a professional free agent to the point the scout gets canned over it.

Broaddus was a pro personnel scout. He's talking about signing Charles Woodson as a FA or possibly a trade.

I think Broaddus might have started out as a college scout briefly but mainly he was pro personnel.

I guess Parcell's comments on Woodson gives us insight into T.O. and whether it was truly Parcell's decision. T.O. was forced on the big Tuna by Jerry Jones.
If so, that's an embarrassment for Parcells because that team was nothing without TO

Also pass on Arod knowing we had old man Drew Bledsole. If we had Ware and Arod man that would have been great.

The irony is Ted Thompson (GB's GM) wanted and would have drafted Marcus Spears had he been available in 2005. The problem was the Cowboys took him and the Packers settled for taking Rodgers.

NFL front offices plan, and the football gods laugh.

I believe Broaddus. In jobs not protected by certain employment guidelines, people with tremendously huge egos act just like this.
It happens a lot in holiday, in college sports, in politics, etc. Some of these people want absolute control, and if everyone under you doesn't tow the line, they're out.
me too. and i believe Broaddus talked to GB about Woodson as that was where he had scouting buddies left after being fired here.

Gm, scouts everything was terrible early 2000s. Cowboys were irrelevant back those days. It wasnt until Romo came in , in 06.

Even broaddus says they were terrible

Am I reading this right? We could have had Charles Woodson and Tuna didn't want him? If so, that's inexcusable and he should have been fired on the spot.

That 2004 draft was worthless. That set us back years. the drafts before that were not spectacular but man 2004 was just awful. Did any of those players do anything in the NFL, I know the 2 offensive lineman didn't make a difference and if I remember right they didn't even make the team. Didn't one guy quit? Those were some dark times.

Naw that's just Parcels being a dope. what BB says kinda fall in line with Parcells. He is old school and its his way or the highway.

Hindsight is 20/20. You gotta remember in 2005 Spears was a big time prospect and Ware was somewhat of a project. At the time we got great value in Spears. He just turned out to be a jag

Stephen Peterman ended up starting for the Lions for a handful of years. Always thought we gave up on him fast after that bad leg injury(MCL/ACL) he suffered in preseason(IIRC). Was in the league till 2012/13.
That draft also had Crayton, Reeves(who also played till 2012!), and Nate Jones(2011)

Was a bad draft in terms of quality players, but we hit on some depth guys later on.
