I think the verdict is out on the whole Weeden thing, but what they do about Leary will be a lot more interesting to me. If they know he's injured--and they think he'll play much better at the bye--then they may stick with him. However, if he doesn't start, is he even active? And if they deactivate him how much drama does that start? I don't know if that figures into coaching decisions at all, but it might.

Hopefully, the extra week off helps him getting fully healthy. He has to be limited physically right now, right?

If they can, though, they ought to be considering bringing Collins to the games because he's played better than Leary has the last two weeks and we're not in a position to dither on the protection when our QB--whoever he is--is going to suck.

Weeden's biggest problem is he is slow to read/react to a pass play. By the time he sees an opening window....it's closed. He needs to know where to go w/ the football before the snap. This is not rocket science...or inventing the wheel. Other teams around the league seem to get open...yet we struggle to complete even the simplest of routes like slants or dig routes.

Our Wr group outside the numbers without Dez is easily amongst the very worst in football. I noted this BEFORE the season so am not shocked but it is what it is.

They don't throw digs or slants to Twill very often because he can't really catch and if those aren't caught they often go the other way for 6.
And he's the only guy who can get open other than Beasley or Witten who play inside.
There is a reason Butler was brought in and immediately elevated over Lucky and Street.
This team should be churning the bottom of the WR roster non-stop.

Not sure what your point is here.

The Cardinals still went 11-5 to close the season after Palmer's injury, meaning they went 3-4 with Drew Stanton and Ryan Lindley.

Arians kept them afloat and they made the playoffs, albeit limping in there.

Will Garrett do that?

So far, he's lost three in a row with Weeden and he has at least three games to go until Romo can possibly return.

Sorry, but if Palmer goes down week 2, Jesus at head coach doesn't lead Arizona to a playoff game. But we're on the same page about being upset with our coaching. Garrett's 'next man up' philosophy works in certain situations, but it's clearly not working at qb. They need to get creative and soon, or this season is done.
