2. As much as we focus on Dez Bryant in the red zone, keep an eye on the work of Terrance Williams when the offense gets down in that area. Williams ran three of the prettiest crossing routes that you will ever see. Each of those routes showed separation and a snatch-catch finish on the move.

4. Could this be the year that Jerry Jones actually gets his wish to see more Lance Dunbar? We have been teased before with the use of Dunbar in certain packages, but I have a feeling this time will be different. I have seen more and more of Dunbar being used like a fifth receiver in his alignment and with his ability to catch the ball and play in space this is not a bad option.

7. Geoff Swaim continues to find ways to get open in practice and finish plays. His stick-nod route in the red zone would have made Jason Witten proud with the way it was executed. Ka'Lial Glaud was in outstanding position from a coverage standpoint initially, but once Swaim made the break up the field -- that all changed. With the ball delivered high, he was still able to pull it down and get both feet down in the process.

8. Devin Street worked against Brandon Carr in the run and play action period and fooled the veteran corner with a beautiful slant-corner route. Street started the route hard to the inside, which Carr played perfectly. But once Carr made that move, Street was able to easily work behind him and make the catch up the field. The way that Street sold the route was what made that play.

10. Davon Coleman continues to turn heads with his play in the middle of this defense. Coleman, working in the team period, was able to get enough penetration up the field and with the presence of mind to stick his hand up right at the perfect time to knock a ball away that was going to an open Antwan Goodly on the slant.

I like this Swaim kid. Might want to hold on to him since this is Hanna's contract year. Reminds me of your old school TEs in the mold of Witten (he's not Witten). Came out of College known for his blocking but reports say he needs work on it which should be expected in the NFL level. Surprised at his route running and catching.

I think if swain can get the job done you trade Hanna
Don't think we should carry 4 te's and we could get a little something for Hanna
Big key for swain though is blocking. He would have to be a solid blocker
That was suppose to be a big part of his game but I've read reports he hasn't blocked well
Not sure what the truth is but that's going to be a huge factor for him
It would be nice to get something for a player you aren't going to resign anyway

Barring serious injury, Dunbar is a roster lock. He's just showing too much versatility to let him walk. It's the three RBs at the top of the depth chart for week one unless there's an injury or they carry 4.

I like both Escobar and Hanna, but with Swaim's emergence and league-wide injuries, a trade wouldn't be surprising.

12. I could watch Jason Witten play in the red zone all day. The tighter the field, the better he plays. He has a rare ability to find space when there is none and when it comes to making the contested catch - he is money. Where Witten doesn't get enough credit is in his ability to have a plan every play -- not just his assignment but coming up with an idea to set himself up to have success

I have shameless admiration him too. Man, what a great player.

Hm. That bodes well for Street. For Carr not so much.

We try to PS Swaim and he gets picked up by another team I'm not going to be happy. Not sure we go with 4 TE's though.

With deciding to trade next years pick, the way they spoke about how his type of TE is difficult to find these days, and how well he has played. I think they decided that they would be willing to keep 4 TEs. I know some have spoken about trading Hanna, but I think they value his blocking to much to part with him.

Sounds like the guy has moxie. Hanna has no moxie. If Swaim is putting even a few Wittenesque moves on the field then give the man a shot. I doubt blocking will be a long term issue with the guy.

I have never quite understood what we see in Hanna anyway. He seems to be a glorified fullback, always and only catching 3 yard routes out of the backfield on 3rd and 7, right before we punt. Yeah, I'm hating a little on him, but really just fishing for Hanna apologists to enlighten me.

They traded a 6th next year for Swaim and he has been better than advertised. There is no way you can cut a guy at any position with that situation. You don't make that trade if all you want is a 4th TE for camp. It's Hanna's last year and Escobar is still a question. Somehow, someway, you have to fit him on the roster.

A pass rush solves a lot of these double moves and drag routes across the field. Our defenders are covering the break but that fade back upfield has gotten a lot of our guys open. It's a good technique when you have time.

Hanna just loses his speed coming out of breaks. You can just play him over the top and react to anything underneath if you have decent athleticism. He is what he is.

We might carry 4 TE's after final cuts only to trade someone a couple of days later. Maybe we will use one in the backfield this year. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Hanna, Randle, Claiborne and a 3rd-rounder for Adrian Peterson.

Did I say that out loud?

I agree McFadden, Randle, and Dunbar will make the squad. We might carry 2 FBs this year just in case.

I'd go with 1 FB, 4 RBs and have one of the 4 TEs fill-in as a backfield blocker in the off-chance that the venerable Clutts gets gimpy.

Yeah something like that. I was looking at Geoff to make the squad. Isn't he like a TE/FB type player ? Gus I would practice squad him for now until he is needed. I know they said the Lions are stack with RBs. I wonder how the waiver wire will go this year.
