You know that calling something a fact doesn't actually make it a fact, right? What correlates with winning in the NFL is passing effectively. That requires adequate pass protection. It doesn't require 'winning in the trenches,' whatever that's supposed to mean. 'Winning in the trenches' goes alongside 'stopping the big play' and 'establishing the running game' and a QB 'having great pocket presence' when it comes to naming things that sound amazing but aren't actually measured when it comes to winning or losing football games.

You're still hung up on your skill position argument that nobody's having with you. I didn't say we should draft a skill position player. I said adding a skill position player if he's the BPA on our board does not hurt this team.

We'll see. He's got to stay healthy, first. He was playing still at a high level when he was on the field last season, though, and it really hurt us down the road last year that we couldn't get him back in the starting lineup. I know we like to turn on our own the moment they peak as players around here, but Rat's issues the last few years have been entirely injury-related. He's a good DT when he's healthy, and the question is whether or not he can stay healthy at this stage of his career.
