I'm seeing Broncos fans pre-defending a possible Broncos super win.
They are hearing that the fix is in, from other fans, because NFL wants to send Peyton out a winner.

The concept that games themselves are fixed is ludicrous. Broncos won both games fair and square by capitalizing off opponent miscues while making very few of their own. At this stage of the game, that's often what it all comes down to.

You are too easy to reply to.

Team bias by officials is well known. Stealers, etc.
Specifically, Seattle vs Stealers. They admitted "mistakes" a year later or so.

ok, first of all, "bias" and "fixing" are 2 completely separate things. I am not surprised you have such a hard time understanding the difference in those two concepts though.

2nd of all, bad calls exist and happen all the time in all sports at all levels. A bad call does not mean a game was fixed.

Answer 1 simple question: Do you think the NFL fixes games?

In other words, you know the games aren't fixed but your personality dictates you would rather argue with me - even though we both agree on this one issue.

Basically trying to defend the cheating of the Pats.. Otherwise, he'd be telling us how everybody tries to cheat besides the Pats to affect the outcome of a game, such as when the Vikings were heating up the balls on the sidelines..

Well if you think the games are fixed, then why do you watch???

The only thing more pathetic than thinking the games are fixed is thinking the games are fixed but watching and following the sport anyway.

Pathetic??

Don't you root for the Patriots knowing that they cheat? Same thing! Lol

Note to BrAinPaiNt: This is the sort of thing that happens all the time in here.

This is a thread about the Broncos and whether or not the NFL is fixed. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Patriots or any ridiculous cheating conspiracy theories.

I want to talk about the issue at hand, but some posters in here take any thread I participate in and hijack it into a discussion of the Patriots. Then I get accused of only taking about the Patriots all the time.

Because that is what it is. Just like when you accused the Broncos of cheating by violating the salary cap to defend the Pats cheating... Suddenly, everybody wins fair and square..

I came into this thread to discuss whether or not the league is fixing games to benefit Denver, not to discuss New England.

3 people have now totally hijacked it into a discussion of the New England Patriots. Can we all please just get back on topic?

The NFL may not 'fix' games, but they can try and direct outcomes of a game through calling it tighter for one team and not the other and so on.

the nfl is no longer about the game its for entertainment so yes the rules are in place to change the outcome of games. the wwe has been fixed for years and millions still follow it

I think any impartial analysis of the above would conclude that what you just described is fixing.

Wow, for once I'm on Rogah's side. Of course the games aren't fixed.

Teams cheat, or try to. That's certainly well established: one only has to look at today's Patriots, or the cap-cheating 49ers of the '90s.

And home field advantage is largely due to refs unconsciously favoring the home team in calls and particularly no-calls. That's well established as well. So bias is real and affects outcomes.

But the games aren't fixed, and the league wouldn't stand for it. The money to be gained from fixing the games pales in comparison to the money the league would lose if people stopped believing the games were fair.
