Now that the Eagles have moved up, I think they will try to make a deal with SD to move to #3 to get Wentz. Jerry needs to swap picks with SD to get Wentz, IMO. That is, of course if this SF/Cle transaction were to happen. And I don't think it will.

But the Eagles are looking to move up.

A few things.

1) Eagles don't have the chips to move up unless they really mortgage the future.
2) It should be noted that their GM, is largely opposed to trading assets to move up in the draft, rather move back and pick up more picks. He moved up to 8 because he wasn't dealing assets he wanted. He wanted to get rid of crap contracts and mediocre players that Kelly acquired and found a sucker in Miami to do it.
3) To get to #3, you are talking the 8th pick, probably both your #3s and then maybe next year's #1 or some combo. They don't have a #2 pick. So there's little chance the Eagles are going to likely trade away the top half of their draft this year and likely next year's #1 to draft a QB that would likely sit on the bench for 2 years or more.

Rookie contracts for QB's are relatively cheap. Which is another reason why I want the Cowboys to take one, assuming the scouts give the thumbs up.

Bradfords contract is for 2 years, which is about what Wentz needs to learn the NFL game. So that works perfect for them. Bradford plays for 2 years, and Wentz takes over after that. We know by now that Sanchez is nothing more than a career backup.

Plus the Eagles have tons of cap room. Money is not an obstacle for the Eagles to grab a QB. In fact, all the signs line up for them to take one.

UPDATE: Sanchez goes to Broncos. More evidence of a move up to #3 for a QB, IMO.

That's not evidence of anything. Once they signed Daniel, Sanchez and his $5.5MM contract was useless for the Eagles. They didn't move Sanchez to create a slot for a top QB, they moved Sanchez to create $4.5MM in cap space because they are looking at signing a few more lower level players, including re-signing Nolan Carroll.

Right now, before trading Sanchez, the Eagles had only 12MM in cap room. That ranks like 25th in the league so they don't have a ton of cap room. They also have a couple of big decisions coming up including Fletcher Cox. So they have to be mindful of their cap.

In taking a QB at 3, they'd have over $50MM in guaranteed money to QBs. Their GM is penny wise and won't do that.

From what it would take in a trade to get to 3 and then what it would cost them in terms of their overall QB position, I'd put the chances of Philly moving to 3 to take Wentz at like 10%.

You may well be right but, given what I have seen from the Eagles so far this offseason I am not putting anything past them.
