The Philadelphia Eagles weren't the only team pursuing Sam Bradford when the new league year kicked off last week.

NFL Media's Charley Casserly reported on Monday's edition of NFL AM that the Cleveland Brownsoffered a first-round draft pick for Bradford.
Casserly's source did not specify whether theBrowns' offer was made to the Rams, Eagles or both teams.

Coach Jeff Fisher told PFT Live last week that theRams were offered a late first-round pick for Bradford and turned that down, preferring Philadelphia's compensation package

If true the Browns are even dumber than I thought. And why would the Rams turn down a 1st round draft pick if it was offered to them?

I have no idea, but maybe they liked Foles and a 2nd round pick more.

Cleveland has 2 1st round picks. I don't know which one was offered.

ESPN's Adam Caplan confirms the Browns offered a first-round pick for Sam Bradford.

Per Caplan, the Browns offered their second first rounder, the No. 19 overall selection. The Browns also own the No. 12 pick. It's unclear if the offer came before or after Bradford's trade to Philadelphia. Owner Jimmy Haslam seems hellbent on finding a "franchise quarterback," but only has Josh McCown to show for it. This is something to file away in case Oregon QB Marcus Mariota falls to No. 12. Perhaps Eagles football czar Chip Kelly would then be willing to play ball with the Browns.

They wanted Foles to replace him.

I guess. There had been rumors of the Rams just cutting Bradford due to his large base salary. That they got anything in return for him amazes me much less teams throwing around 1st round picks.

I can't believe Fisher just quit on him like that.

Glad this was cleared up..I think. I was under the impression that a 1st rounder was offered to the Eagles once he acquired him. Guess not.

The Rams were offered a first round pick.

After the Eagles made the trade, Chip said they(eagles) were ALSO offered a first round pick for him

These are the kind of things that make members of football forums think they can be real life GMs.

A real bona-fide GM running the show up there in Cleveland. That GM takes CB Justin Gilbert and QB Johnny Football Rehab in the 1st rd last year. And that bozo GM keeps his job. Now the same goofy GM tries to trade for a QB who played in 3 games the past two years and has one year left on his contract at a hefty $14M. Same GM is being investigated for illegally phoning the sideline during a game. And that GM keeps his job.

They don't call Cleveland the 'Factory of Sadness' for nothing.

If this is true Fisher is an idiot. He took Foles over a first? In what world does that make sense? That guy got a kings ransom for the RG3 trade, has a D-line with 11 first round picks on it and an offence that has Nick Foles throwing to Tavon Austin as their first option. Bad times all round.

No, he took Foles and a second over that which is a smart move considering both starting level QB s in this draft will be gone in top 5 picks

Foles can be a productive starter for the Rams

You clearly have a lot more faith in Foles than me.

That team has a great defense and good running game

I think Foles can be an above average NFL QB

He had some juicy skill players in Philly, I don't think he gets that luxury in St.Louis and it exposes him as a career back up.
