As per gbnreport.com,
(8:30 AM): Browns to get Lions pick for DT … Cleveland has reportedly agreed to send veteran DT Corey Williams to Detroit for what is being described as a 5th or 6th round draft choice at the 2010 draft. Williams reportedly was scheduled to take a physical Friday in Detroit, and if he passes, the trade will be completed. If the Lions do complete the deal, it sets up a potentially interesting situation along the defensive front as Williams essentially fills the same role that either collegiate DTs Ndamukong Suh or Gerald McCoy, the two players the Lions had been expected to fiocus on with the #2 pick at this year’s draft, would naturally fill, although Detroit is so thin up front on that side of the ball, there is probably still room for another DT, although the acquisition of Williams could also allow the Lions to look at other options such as an OT or a possible trade down. Meanwhile, the Browns, though, aren’t believed to be finished dealing and have reportedly let other teams know that star DT Shaun Rogers is available as is QB Derek Anderson as well as possibly QB Brady Quinn. For good measure, the Lions also made the first big free agent signing when they inked WR Nate Burleson, late of Seattle. At the same time, Chicago has reportedly signed former San Diego back-up TE Brandon Manumaleuna, however, the Bears real prize is Carolina DE Julius Peppers whom the team is courting heavily as we speak.
