Get real. We need to quit coddling these guys. He's a free agent after next season. It's time to produce.

How do I need to get real? LB's considered great in this league DO get beat and QB's can and do make perfect passes that simply can not be defended. We see it every Sunday.

We switched from the 3-4 to the 4-3 defense this year, in case anyone forgot. Linebacker responsibilities changed quite a lot. It's simply going to take time.

Imagine if this team would've invested solid mid round picks into the 3-4 scheme instead of wasting them on scrubs like AOA and Matt Johnson

Bruce Carter. He allowed two touchdowns, was benched for veteran Ernie Sims and is having questions raised about his ability to make plays in the passing game. Carter is an athletic player but looks lost right now.

Holding players accountable and this is a good start. I just don't think Bruce is smart enough to play in the NFL.

but everyone told me he was going to be great, and i got his HoF jersey right now. im freakingly freaking out right now.

Players play and coaches coach. Y'all all want a tough hard nosed disciplined team but then wanna complain when the coaches try to do something to instill those values into the team.

It's simple really. Do your job. That's it. Do your freaking job and if you can't then get off the field.

Btw: I am by no means a Jason Garrett supporter. I think he blows and the Dallas Cowboys should never settle for any coach but the absolute best

who would that be? im just curious, because didnt we have that hard nose coach that doesnt take crap, and what did he produce?

last week this defense resembled steel curtain, purple people eaters and doomsday defense rolled into one. I would wait few more weeks before declaring anything.

Interesting point. Travis Frederick got his bachelors in Computer Engineering at Wisconsin and so far has been playing well. He also scored a 34 of 50 on the Wonderlic. Claiborne scored a 4 out of 50 and studied General Studies at LSU and is playing awful.

Maybe book smarts translates into a better football player. Just a hypothesis

Do your job is Sean Payton's motto. Ya know the guy we had here learning how to coach under that hard nosed coach you think didn't do squat.

Then Jerry let him go to the Saints. But then paid an arm and a leg to keep Garrett.

And another thing, does Sean Lee get a pass for giving up a touchdown since he scored a touchdown?

No, but I am not surprised one of the best TEs in the game beat him. LB's are going to get beat by top TE's. Watching the Cowboys, you see the other side of it week after week with Witten. Top tier TEs are a tough cover for LBs. Carter couldn't cover a bed with a sheet.

Is it possible to bench a Coach? Jerry Jones should bench Garrett, Callahan and that old guy for the design of plays. Having a faster quicker RB being covered way down field by a thick linebacker is a recipe for disaster. Just ask Sean Lee. They forced us out of the Tampa two into man coverage, I guess they out smarted us. So bench those coaches.

I think it's better to bench the owner/GM. Nothing short of that will result in the same nonsense we've gone through over the past 17 years. Expect more of the same regardless of who the coaches and players are.

How about the times that Carter missed his assignment on Woodhead or Matthews or Gates and allowed the Chargers to complete an easy 5-10 yard pass?

Blaming the playcalling and blaming Carter for the 1st TD catch is ridiculous. I'll take Carter versus Woodhead. It was a perfect pass and you can't defend a perfect pass.

But, when you allow easy catches all game long because your WILL LB is botching his assignments, there's a problem. There's a reason why Carter got benched. He was repeatedly not doing his job.

YR

YR...I agree with you. Claiborne and Carter are both in a crisis right now and it might be that Claiborne's injury limits him to a point where he too might have to be pulled...if that is even viable. Can the defense afford his current level of play, which seems to be below replacement level, at least in yesterday's game? Hearing that he is "lost" hardly bodes well for times when the rush is less effective. I will watch the game on rewind but from what I am reading today, he looks bad right now. Both he and Carter are two crucial cogs in a defense that will only be as good as persistent pressure from its front four. You hate to see a starter get benched but it does send a message.

Most NFL LBs would have been burnt on that pass to scooter. AKA Woodhead.
