Meaning you'll be shocked if Carter doesn't sign elsewhere?

No somebody will think hes worth big money. Id keep him for like 3 mil a year. Hes not bad but not worth a big contract unless ita performance based.

Tampa would be a smart play got Carter. Similar schemes means nothing new to learn and that is where Carter has struggled in the past.

Brucie was starting to look really sharp in this defense last season. I'd like him back at a good price. Unfortunately some desperate team will probably overpay to get him.

I hate to lose this guy.

He was a absolute playmaker down the stretch, we had to wait a year, for him to even play, and now we're just moving on.

Whoever gets Bruce Carter is lucky because his best football is in front of him.

Not me. He had one good year out of the last 3 and the other 2 he was hot garbage. People know hes lazy.

You think he's lazy. I know that Lee talks about him studying film with him all the time and that he has several records in the Cowboys weight room.

I think he doesn't see the field nor read his keys well. He misses motions and gets flanked and the like. I think it's more about his ability to process a great deal of information over the course of time the offense lines up and runs a play.

I think he handles adversity poorly. He will lose focus after bad plays and add insult to injury.

Thing is that experience and maturity help both those things. I would like to see him return. His best football is here in Dallas as opposed to him learning a brand new scheme somewhere else. He makes plays and as his eyes get better so will that I think.
Ha lol. I have a feeling teams in this league think a lot more highly of him than you do.

Somebody will throw money at him no doubt but it wont be dallas.
Sadly it won't be. But I think it should be. Just as long as its not too crazy. I would've made Bruce Carter priority over any of our free agents not named Dez.

Possibly. Teams have to lose more free agents than they signed and then salary comes into the equation. Also players that were released rather than a contract ending do not count either way. Picks wouldn't be until next year though. Cowboys should get a pick for losing Jason Hatcher last year.

i heard mike fisher say that we should get a 4th rounder comp for Parnell

I have mixed feeling on Carter, there have been times in his career where his play and his attitude have caused concerns. However it seems to me he finally got things going and seemed to have a much better understanding of playing the scheme. All players do not develop at the same pace and would hate to lose him when he seems to finally have things going in the right direction.

Don't think we will get any comp picks at all. We signed more than we lost.

I agree.

Carter has disappeared on us for long stretches before but when this guy is on he is one of the better LB's in the league.

I agree and I sort of thought the market for him would've been a tad bit lower since he has been rather inconsistent. Sucks that he could be heading somewhere else and someone else will reap the benefits of his development.

I too think we should keep him. He is slow in learning new systems, but once he understands his responsibilities, he's very good. He's an outstanding athlete and I see him only getting better if he can stay in the same defensive system.
