Mike and Mike were just discussing how teams who wrap up early lose momentum compared to teams that have to duke it out every week to the end and into the playoffs. The players are are on high intensity each week and give their best effort knowing it is 'one and out' if they falter.
so ...playing top competition and winning most of these games will be an advantage for us in the end..........besides, if we lose the rest of the way than we will really know the truth about what this team is all about which will guarantee a quick exit for Wade, JG etc
I like the 'all or none' approach as we start December

You have to play the best in the playoffs. There's no reason to coast into the tournament. Best to get on a roll and get some mo.

This is a brutal schedule, I can't remember having to play this many top quality teams in the last 5 games when Dallas was also a playoff contender or leading the NFC East.

This is truly a gauntlet and this team will come out a much tougher one primed for the playoffs.

? I agree this schedule is tough, but last years was worse.

Yup, just like the Cardinals last year...oh, wait a minute.
It's more like the Colts in '06, who lost 3 of their last 5 after wrapping things up and went on to...never mind.

Most Super Bowl winners rolled through the season and wrapped things up early. People love to talk about this stuff, but it just ain't true.

The schedule humor is a schedule maker chuckling over his coffee right now...

as to winning, didn't Bill Parcells lay the foundation with the standard that all games were important and a team tried to win them all?

I agree.

This stretch will either define the Cowboys as a playoff Super Bow-caliber team or pretenders ready for another coach to get us over the hump.

It's a win-win situation as far as I'm concerned. :)

It can be true. The 05 Steelers and 07 Giants proved that to be the case, playing hard or winning their remaing regular season games then steamrolling through the playoffs and to a Super Bowl win.

We Cowboys fans just want to accentuate the most favorable circumstances when considering our team's prospects for the post season.

It's just a matter of perspective, that's all.

The brutal schedule is good, because it will manifest any weaknesses we have and shoot down any over-confidence. This team tends to get too complacent and a rough schedule will keep it on it's toes...
