I am sure he plays some STs but wonder why we grab a FB when we havent run the two RB system all year. Going back to Garrett's love affair with it that never worked?

He might become our best backfield blitz protector as well.

Interesting. Couple of name FBs were available (Kettani and Marecic) but Cowboys chose this guy. Is his name pronounced "Klutz"?

I believe it's pronounced Klootz.

So now we're going to using a FB? I swear this team is like my son. Won't commit to anything.

Doubt that is the case -- he's ST and maybe the play or two where we brought in a LB to play the FB role. He can also long snap if there is an emergency.

I doubt very much that the 53rd man on the roster is going to impact our offensive system.

He had 8 starts for Chicago in 2011.

History:

Edmonton Eskimos

After going undrafted in the 2008 NFL Draft, Clutts signed with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.[2]

Utah Blaze
After a two-year career in the CFL, Clutts signed with the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League for one year.[2]

Sacramento Mountain Lions
Following his brief stay in the AFL, he played for the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL for a year, where he officially made the switch to fullback.[3][2]

Cleveland Browns
Clutts was signed to a future contract by the Cleveland Browns on January 5, 2011.[2] During the preseason finale against the Bears, Clutts attracted interest from Bears special teams coordinator Dave Toub, who felt that Clutts would be a decent addition to the team, which would lead to his signing with the Bears.[4]

Chicago Bears
He was signed by the Chicago Bears from the Cleveland Brown's practice squad on September 7, 2011 to a three-year deal.[5] When long snapper Patrick Mannelly went down with an injury against the San Diego Chargers, Clutts filled in his role until the arrival of Chris Massey.[6] Clutts was eventually in the running for a spot on the NFC team for the 2012 Pro Bowl, but ultimately did not make it.[7]

Houston Texans
On August 31, 2012 Clutts was traded to the Houston Texans for CB Sherrick McManis.[8]

Miami Dolphins
Clutts signed with the Miami Dolphins before the 2013 season. He was waived on October 1.[9]

Dallas Cowboys
Clutts signed with the Dallas Cowboys on December 3, 2013

Gotta wonder about Bosworth who has committed several penalties on STs recently. We are also getting healthier at LB.

We've been using a linebacker at fullback in short-yardage situations, this simply replaces Bosworth with an actual fullback.
