BTB did an article showing in the last game we weren't very effective running the ball with 12 personnel, and did a whole lot better when we switched to a larger dose of 11 in the 2nd half. BTB says is because it forced the Raiders to pull a big body off the field and replace him with a little coverage guy who was easier to neutralize on running plays. Now that we know that, adding a real fullback should help the running game, too.

I'm sure Garrett knows we have to run the ball to get anywhere in the playoffs, should we be so fortunate to get there. With our D, probably the best way to keep them from scoring is to control the clock and limit their number of offensive possessions.

lawerence vickers isn't too happy about the move...it seems like a lot of ex-cowboys leave the team salty.

To all of cowboy nation no that it's luv always but this move rite here makes me realize how hard work n dedication don't mean ****

It's too bad that he's hard work and dedication didn't make him an adequate replacement for Fiametta. I was certainly hoping he would be, but it didn't happen.

i read it, just didn't make sense. this offensive staff has showed a total lack of creativity the last 2 seasons, you think now in December there's a possibility of them breaking out some new stuff b/c they signed tyler clutts? c'mon man it ain't happening. plus why would they now have new formations when bosworth has been playing fullback for this team when a fullback is needed.

"I honestly don't mind this if they can throw some completely unfamiliar formations and plays at opponents this late in the season.

Things teams have no film on.

They operative word is IF though..."

That didn't make sense to you? Was it a difficult concept?

Weren't they throwing new wrinkles just last week doing things like putting Dez in the slot? So yeah... I guess there's a possibility.

You understand the word "IF"? I used it twice in that statement and those two words were quite strategically placed.

Read it one more time... It might help.

This is an excellent move that shows the coaching staff has adapted to the reality of the offense.

The 12 package, which was supposed to be the staple has been ditched, at least for the remainder of the season. Hanna and Escobar are pass catchers, not traditional blockers and certainly not fullbacks. Bosworth did OK, but why not get a REAL fullback in here.

I think Clutts will be useful heading down the stretch.

Why are we arguing about this? I can't envision a scenario where our season hangs on the back of Tyler Clutts.

It wont. I think he ultimately replaces the LB we've been using to block in goal line situations and on STs. That's all.

I don't really see the need to change what we're doing in short yardage situations. Bosworth threw a great block on one of our rushing touchdowns last game. I'm thinking it's mostly a special teams signing.
