In case some of you thought he was coming here.

Free agent wide receiver Bryant Johnson signed a one-year contract with San Francisco, a source told ESPN.com.

Johnson visited Buffalo early in free agency, and seemed like a good fit. The Bills are in need of a big receiver to take pressure off of deep-threat Lee Evans. But now it appears the Bills must look elsewhere to address this void, probably in the draft.

Financial terms of the deal are not known yet. Johnson has been a No. 3 WR for Arizona for most of his four seasons, playing behind Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald. Last season he caught 46 passes for 528 yards and two touchdowns.

San Francisco released Trent Dilfer yesterday, and watched defensive end Marques Douglas sign with Tampa Bay to a four-year deal. Like Buffalo, San Francisco's WR corps was hurting for a physical presence. The 49ers top two receptions leader

I guess we're really commiting ourselves to doing something in the draft at the WR position.

He was about the last FA WR I liked.

I still think there might be something in the works with Detroit. Call me crazy but I just think maybe that's been the plan all along and we are waiting till a bit closer to the draft to figure out how to play the trade.

I know, I know, every thinks I'm full of crap. Everybody is probably right but I just have that feeling.

Hes a big, fast reciever... I havent seen a whole lot of him though, but I guess his signing only a one year deal must show what gm's think of him.

I wonder if buffallo offered him more money and he turned it down, though really I would take anything besides living in Buffallo no offense.

So why is his average per catch so bad? His speed has never transferred to the field.

I don't think being fast was ever his calling card.
