not sure if you are serious.

Totally serious. Petty throws a nice tight spiral... Mariotta to me is another athletic QB being over hyped who can't progress through his reads and seems wayyyy too quiet and timid to be a leader. Yes, Petty needs a lot of work because he didn't take snaps under center at Baylor. . I get that which is why he is the perfect candidate for a team that already has a starter in place for the next 2-3 years. This QB class as a whole is horrible. Petty is the only one I would spend a drat pick on. Mariotta will only succeed if he somehow ends up in Philly.

Petty never goes through progressions either, their whole offense is designed to throw it to one guy,his accuracy problems(he is statiscally way less accurate than Mariotta).I just wouldnt draft any QBs this year, all have huge problems are just not worth it.

Yeah, I know that Petty has a lot to learn as well but I just like him better as a future prospect. I agree that this QB class is nothing to get excited about but I would not be opposed to Dallas taking Petty in the 3rd or 4th round.

True, but I like Petty much better as a pro than Mariotta. He's way more accurate throwing the football than Mariotta is.

Petty was almost a 63% passer in college. Mariotta was almost a 67% passer. I think Petty throws an accurate deep ball, but that is the least attempted pass in the NFL. You have to be accurate on all the other throws to be good in the NFL.

He's probably a late round draft pick based on age/talent/system. Him being a QB will likely see him off the board in the late 2nd to 4th round.

The whole qb thing will be forever debated. Look at all the qb drafted the past several years and look at who pan out. For a qb to prosper a few variables must be in place. The first variable is skillset , which Petty has. The second variable is the quality of the team. I think these new Cowboys is a quality team and can develop him nicely. One last variable is translation, how will Perry translate from college to pro ? That is the million dollar question .

Me peronally ill take him in the 3rd if he is there. The whole shot gun under centee center mess is over blown. I ll tame a air raid qb any day and have him throw 20-30 times a game.

But if you really look at the argument given by most how would you project Romo by looking at these guys standard.

Wildflowers is a great album.

Sorry, this thread was about Bryce Petty and not Tom Petty. Carry on.

I watched his tape about a week ago. Had a nice touch on his deep balls but otherwise I wasn't very impressed. Also spent too much time in the pocket from what I saw.

Ball velocity is only 53 mph. Anything under 55 is "undraftable" according to some. I'd be ok with taking him on day 3 though. (At below link you'll see the rule appears to be valid - no one in the last 7 years has turned into anything who threw under 55, including Dustin Vaughn.)

Cool info. Surprised at Jerry Lovelocke's velocity...because it looks like he's trying to kill his receivers on every throw.

I wonder what Romo's and Brady's is.

I wouldn't use any draft pick on him. Good college QB, but frankly he's just a system QB. The next good QB Briles puts in the pros will be the first (yeah I'm looking at you RG3).

Agree... Wouldnt draft him... UFA at best
