The NFL announced the compensatory picks for the 2017 NFL Draft on Friday afternoon, and with the announcement, the official draft order for the 2017 NFL draft has been finalized.
In addition to confirming the number of picks that each team will have, the NFL announcement also locks in the draft slots and overall pick numbers for each team’s selections. The Cowboys will have seven picks in the 2017 draft.
Here's an overview of all those seven picks (order via NFL Communications website)
- 1st round: 28th overall
- 2nd round: 60th overall
- 3rd round: 92nd overall
- 4th round: 133rd overall
- 6th round: 211th overall
- 7th round: 228th overall (from Buffalo)
- 7th round: 246th overall
For the first time, teams can trade compensatory picks this year, which might result in a slight increase in trade activity. The Cowboys didn't get any comp picks this year, though we expect them to get up to four in the 2018 NFL Draft.
