Let’s take one final look back at the heartbreaking loss.

The good news about a bye week in the NFL is that it allows you to dwell on a victory for two straight weeks, assuming you got one going into it.

Unfortunately for all of us, a minute and 13 seconds is going to last for two weeks as we stew on the latest Dallas Cowboys loss. It’s another one at the hands of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, which always adds a special bit of ugh-ness.

How did it happen, though? What was the story? We here at BTB are glad that you asked. Here is the latest Cowboys and Packers showdown re-explained, of course, by the numbers.

29: Ezekiel Elliott, in what might have been his last game for a while, carried the ball 29 times. This was a season high for Elliott, and it produced another season-high in terms of yards.

116: As referenced, Ezekiel Elliott had more yards against the Packers than he’s had in any game through this point in the season. In fact the last time in which Elliott had more than 116 rushing yards was the Divisional Playoff game, also against Green Bay.

10: Jason Witten got back into the fold for Dak Prescott, who targeted the future HOFer a double-digit amount of times for the first time in a while. It was Witten’s second game of the season with double digit targets.

3: The Cowboys attempted three fourth downs throughout the game. They converted on all three. That’s an incredible success rate, just apparently not enough for a win.

4: Speaking of conversion efficiency, the Cowboys offense was a perfect four for four in the redzone, making it all the more frustrating that they lost.

1: Chris Jones punted just one time against the Packers. Think about that. Of course, this came in the third quarter when the Cowboys have experienced a stalling offense.

2:16: The Green Bay Packers held the ball for just two minutes and 16 seconds in the entire fourth quarter. They scored 20 points in said quarter. The Cowboys scored half of that in their 12:44.

35: The Cowboys allowed the opposing team to score 35 points, for the second week in a row.

4: Dak Prescott threw his fourth interception of the 2017 season against the Packers. He had four interceptions across the entire 2016 regular season.

3 (again): The Dallas Cowboys lost their third game of the season against the Packers. They had three losses across the entire 2016 regular season.
