I'm very high on Murray but Lacey looks to me like the total package.

If we were a team like New England Id be all over it but we have way too many holes to draft BPA.

I guess that is somewhat true TODAY...
But I would never say never... In today's NFL as it stands right now... That's true ... With the cowboys and all the holes they need to fill also true..
But their have always been exceptions
AP , LT , emmitt, Barry sanders ... Etc etc ... Not sure if that player exists today

There have been 14 running backs selected in the first round during the previous five NFL drafts. Only Rashard Mendenhall and Chris Johnson have multiple 1,000-yard seasons and half have never reached that rather inflated milestone.. RB's have been devalued big time..

I understand the logic, but I disagree. If you have an Adrian Peterson or a Stephan Jackson on the board you draft them as soon as you can. I care what round you are in. Not saying Lacy fits that mold I'm just sayin.

Devalued, sure, but we should hesitate to throw out absolutes. If Dallas feels that Adrian Peterson junior is in the 2014 draft when they are on the clock, then they need to pick that dude.

This ain't Kentucky and Vanderbilt. Lacy will not run over NFL players like he did in college.

If it's not Adrian Peterson or Barry Sanders, you don't draft running backs in the NFL anymore early. You can get really good ones in the 4th round and beyond.

The NFL has made this a league of 90+ passes a game with the rules changes, so you have to draft accordingly.

The only two players on your list who would have any chance of going in the top half of round 1 today would be Peterson and Sanders.

The great Emmitt Smith would not be drafted in round 1 unless it was at the bottom. That's the NFL.
