Roger Goodell is not a favorite of fans in Dallas, but there are also other places where he is not likely to be awarded the key to the city
Patriots fans greet Roger Goodell to boos before game vs. Chiefs Staff, ESPN
The NFL commissioner is responsible for doling out discipline around the league, as we know all too well. The people in New England are still up in arms over the Tom Brady suspension.
It didn't take long for the booing to begin when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell set foot on the Gillette Stadium field Thursday night.
Maybe five or six seconds.
There are plenty of boos to go around for Goodell, including from those in the state of Texas.
SUPER LETDOWN: PATRIOTS ROUTED IN 2ND HALF, CHIEFS WIN 42-27 Barry Wilner, Associated Press
Well yesterday I was telling you that there is some serious discussion of the Patriots going undefeated. Today I am back telling you that those hopes were dashed by the Kansas City Chiefs.
A raucous sold-out crowd of 65,878 celebrated the unveiling of yet another championship banner, and there was plenty of talk about Tom Brady leading them to a 19-0 record.
After Week 1, though, they are winless.
You know I was not booing that.
Chiefs’ mental toughness, downfield dynamism stand out in 42-27 win over Patriots Terez A Paylor, Kansas City Star
Give credit where credit is due. The Chiefs served notice that they are ready for the changing of the guard in the AFC.
The Chiefs were in Foxborough to win, and they would not go down quietly.
Has anyone mentioned that the Patriots are 0-1?
The NFL takes a Netflix-style approach to fuel its growth in Europe Seb Joseph, Digiday
The NFL, first and foremost is a business whose end product is a game. The bottom line is in generating revenue for the league and its owners. The league is now taking another step toward enriching its coffers by cashing in on the overseas market.
The Netflix-style Game Pass service has been overhauled for the 61 European markets the NFL operates in ahead of the new season, which started Sept. 7. Subscribers get access to award-winning shows and behind-the-scenes content as well as the option to watch every game. The NFL owns Game Pass, but a joint venture of Bruin Sports Capital, its sports media entity Deltatre and WPP runs the service.
Ten bold predictions for 2017 NFL season, include your next MVP: Russell Wilson Lindsay H. Jones, Detroit Free Press
It might be the wildest division in the NFL, and with four stud quarterbacks (Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Cam Newton and Jameis Winston) every divisional game will be competitive. The Atlanta Falcons have the deepest roster and should be the favorite to again finish in first place. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are a sexy playoff pick, and the Carolina Panthers have a good chance to rebound two years after winning the NFC title as long as Newton can get (and remain) healthy, and rookie Christian McCaffrey can have an immediate impact.
That is pretty bold. See what else Jones is prognosticating by following the link.
