What was speculation earlier today is now confirmed by Jason Garrett, Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer will undergo surgery. Spencer's knee was bothering him over the offseason and he aggravated it during the conditioning run at the start of training camp. The diagnosis is a bone bruise and the recovery time has been reported as anywhere between 2 - 4 weeks.
Nick Eatman weighs in with his own tweet saying three weeks.

In Spencer's absence Kyle Wilber should get plenty of reps and playing time, if the second-year kid wants to show he's got what it takes, the opportunity is there. With Crawford's and Spencer's injury, plenty of other guys will probably see time shifting between the two spots as the Cowboys look to find some player's among their untested depth.
The good news? Spencer should be ready to go come the regular-season opener.
