The opponents and the approximate dates of the pre-season games are now public.
Okay, it's a long way until football is back, but at least we can start dreaming about it, if only just a little. Today, the NFL released the pre-season schedule opponents for 2015, and a span of days for each week when the games will be played. For the hardcore fan, even a pre-season game is meaningful. We get to watch guys who may or may not make the roster battle it out in semi-real conditions, and it means real football is just around the corner.
So get your calendars out and mark it down, the Cowboys will be back on the field to play almost-real football sometime during the following span of dates.
Week 1 (Aug. 13-17) - Cowboys @ Chargers
Week 2 (Aug. 20-24) - Cowboys @ 49ers
Week 3 ( Aug. 27-20) - Vikings @ Cowboys
Week 4 (Sept. 3-4) - Texans @ Cowboys
Looks like the Cowboys will playing their traditional two games out west while at training camp in Oxnard, then coming home for two home games. Week 3, against the Vikings? Which sideline will Adrian Peterson be on? I kid! Then close it out against in-state rivals Houston.
The Hall of Fame Game between the Steelers and the Vikings gets things going on Aug 9th.
As a reminder, the Cowboys 2015 opponents and home/away games shake out like this:
Home Opponents Away Opponents
NFC East Eagles Eagles
Giants Giants
Commanders Commanders
NFC South Giants Giants
Commanders Commanders
Falcons Saints
Panthers Buccaneers
AFC East Panthers Buccaneers
