Free agency continues on with plenty of mentions about the Cowboys.
We're deep into the second phase of free agency, past the explosion of big-dollar signings and into the mid-tier, where prices are more reasonable. The Dallas Cowboys might become more active in this phase by going after free agents that are from outside the organization. Let's take a look at the latest news, rumors and mentions involving the Cowboys.
Eric Weddle
The Ravens have landed the safety free agent.

Were the Cowboys really players in the Weddle sweepstakes? They have been consistently mentioned as one of the four teams still in contention, going as far back as Friday.

But that door is closed if they were ever serious contenders. The money is a little rich for a player at Weddle's age, the Cowboys were smart to back out if they were ever seriously in play.
Lance Dunbar
As noted, he's doing a tour of the NFC West. He started with a visit to the 49ers, and now is visiting the Seahawks.

The Cowboys are definitely int he market for free agent running backs, but seem to be looking more for a complement back to Darren McFadden instead of a change of pace guy like Dunbar. They were somewhat in on the Lamar Miller sweepstakes, and Matt Forte mentioned they had serious interest in him.
Matt Forte had his introductory conference call with Jets media and named the Cowboys and Bucs as teams with major interest before signing Doug Martin just before the free agency dinner bell rang. Forte added the Packers and Patriots had "minor" interest.
We'll see if they circle back to Dunbar.
Chris Long
Long is taking his time, having visited multiple teams and is expected to visit the Cowboys on Wednesday.

Long is visiting the Patriots today, we'll see if he makes it to Dallas.
Nolan Carroll
Todd Archer reports that there is still interest but that Carroll is weighing his options.
On hold. He has other options too. https://t.co/qxatvmFahc
