If the Cowboys draft two players from the same college, which duo would be most desirable?
Do you have a favorite Florida cornerback? Both Teez Tabor and Quincy Wilson were pre-daft visitors and one of them could be a second-round target for the Cowboys. The team also met with Colorado defensive backs Chidobe Awuzie and Tedric Thompson who could hear their names called to strengthen the secondary. There are several schools represented by multiple players on the Cowboys invite list. If Dallas did decide to double-dip from one of them, which combination would you like the most?
Washington Huskies
CB Kevin King
A lot of fans gravitate towards these freaky good athletes which should explain why the love for King has been growing. The 6-3 corner graded out with the highest SPARQ score from OCC’s Superior Athlete, cornerback edition he put together last week. Here is a breakdown of those measurables courtesy of mockdraftable.
The build is there and that’s something you can’t coach. His size and physical attributes alone offer up some intriguing benefits. His leaping ability allows him to challenge passes at the catch point extremely well. And this will come in real handy in the red zone.
The concern with King is whether or not he can stay with his man. He’s not the most fluid at changing directions and doesn’t posses the strength to disrupt routes.
CB Sidney Jones
Would the Cowboys try to get cute and get a first-round corner at a discounted draft price? Jones is not only the best corner from Washington, but outside of Marshon Lattimore, he would have been the best corner in the draft had he not tore his Achilles during his pro day.
Similar to King, Jones is a zone-specialist and doesn’t thrive in physical situations on shorter routes. But unlike King, Jones is more developed in his footwork and hip movement, allowing him to roam more freely.
If the Cowboys aren’t excited about any of the pass rushers when they’re on the clock, the shift will be to the secondary. Though Jones would be put on layaway and King still needs more developing, could you imagine if the Cowboys raided the Huskies elite talent pool by U-Dub’ling up on cornerbacks? That could set themselves up for the future.
UCLA Bruins
DE Takkarist McKinley
While some of us aren’t even interested in Takk, it might all be moot when the Baltimore Ravens snag him midway through the first round. If he somehow makes it to pick 28, the Cowboys would be lucky to get him. McKinley anticipates the snap extremely well and explodes out of his stance. He has long arms and great closing speed to keep quarterbacks from getting away. Once he develops his hand work, he’ll add more to his pass rushing arsenal and be a real force in this league. Of course he’ll miss some time as he recovers from shoulder surgery.
CB Fabian Moreau
If you like the athleticism of King and are willing to wait for a talent like Jones, then the Bruin corner is right up your alley. He’s right next to King on the SPARQ chart, but like his edge rushing teammate, he has a shoulder injury that is going to keep him on the shelf for a while. Unlike King, Moreau is more polished with fluid hips and is very smooth in coverage. He’s extremely sharp on the field and recognizes routes quickly.
Could you imagine Jerry Jones and company sitting at a press conference and having to explain why they just drafted two injured players? It would upset a lot of people, but keep in mind Takk and Fabian are two very good football players. While it would be great to get immediate contributors, the Cowboys are in the business of collecting great players.
USC Trojans
CB Adoree Jackson
While the Trojan cornerback has a ways to go developing his craft, his freakish athleticism provides enormous upside. He’s got quick feet and the speed to recovery should someone get loose up field. Watch him chase down the running back after giving up a nice head start.
Big plays allow you to see someone really turn on the jets (as @BenFennell_NFL says).. Adoree' Jackson turns em' on here two diff times pic.twitter.com/9fAEB0Uv4Q

WR JuJu Smith-Schuster
Last year the Cowboys signed Alfred Morris to go with Darren McFadden to shore up the running back position prior to the draft. Then, they turned around and used their top draft resource on Ezekiel Elliott. This is further evidence that the Cowboys are going after the most talented player regardless of just how bad they need him.
So with Terrance Williams re-signed, the need for a wide receiver isn’t there, but that doesn’t mean the Cowboys won’t jump if they see a good deal. If teams go defense heavy in the first couple rounds, that could leave some appealing offensive players still available in the third round. As talent fades a bit, the wide receiver position still could offer up a good player.
JuJu is a good blocker which is a good quality for the Cowboys offense. With a strong upper body, he’s a physical receiver that uses contact off the line of scrimmage to create separation. He’s a chain moving receiver with the ability to make big plays. And just like Terrance Williams, he doesn’t like to go out of bounds.
Do you like any of these combos? Or maybe you like the Ohio State duo of CB Gareon Conley and WR Curtis Samuel?
