Highlights from the first practice to start the final week in Oxnard.

The Dallas Cowboys were back on the practice field to start their final week of practices in sunny California before heading back home to take on the Bengals. Technically, this is the 12th practice with practice #11 simply being a walkthrough.

Practice No. 12, by my count pic.twitter.com/1AmBpI2RHl

First things first, the Cowboys will likely need to make some roster decisions soon:

Jason Garrett says that Marcus Martin and Marqueston Huff will be out for at least a week or two “at minimum.” Sounds like the Cowboys mignt have to make a roster move or two in the next few days #cowboyswire

    — David Helman (@HelmanDC) August 11, 2018

Jason Garrett said a roster move could be forthcoming based on the injures at S and OL. Marcus Martin has a torn ligament in his toe and might be out for the season.

    — Calvin Watkins (@calvinwatkins) August 11, 2018

Also, don’t expect to see Noah Brown work his way into the receiver battle until the team returns to Texas:

The Cowboys don't plan to push WR Noah Brown this last week of training camp practices in California as he works his way back from a strained hamstring, so he won't do much before he gets back to Texas.

    — Brandon George (@DMN_George) August 11, 2018

WRs Noah Brown and Deonte Thompson are back in pads today. Currently working with associate athletic trainer Britt Brown. #cowboyswire

    — Rob Phillips (@robphillips3) August 11, 2018

Cole Beasley is still nursing a sore groin, so he will remain sidelined too:

No Cole Beasley (groin) at practice today. S Marqueston Huff is out too.

    — Calvin Watkins (@calvinwatkins) August 11, 2018

Not sure what is up with Kavon Frazier but we’ll keep an eye out for any news:

Not practicing today for the Cowboys: S Marqueston Huff, WR Cole Beasley, WR Noah Brown, WR Deonte Thompson, S Kavon Frazier.

Some developments in the Randy Gregory “will he or won’t he practice saga”, it looks as though we’re one step closer:

Randy Gregory will take part in individual drills during today’s practice in pads. Another step closer to fully participating

It looks like Sean Lee finally talked the coaches into letting him get involved in practice:

ALERT: Sean Lee is on the way to getting his way - his first padded full practice today for #Cowboys here in Oxnard this aft https://t.co/PkJQiAIzjp

It’s always a wise move to shower your offensive line with gifts as Dak Prescott has with these scooters:

Several players have these scooters. Jason Garrett didn’t get one. He’s more of a walker pic.twitter.com/CAUokxNLMz

    — Jon Machota (@**********) August 11, 2018

Ezekiel Elliott didn’t seen any playing time in preseason game number one but does he really need it?

    Time for work! .. pic.twitter.com/hBJXuYRFFn

    — Dallas Cowboys (@dallascowboys) August 11, 2018

Will McClay decided to take a more “hands-on” approach and get himself a closer look at the defensive lineman:

Will McClay is keeping a close eye on the D-Line in the early going of this practice. I wonder why that is

Sean Lee was out there for drills, trying to build up to a heavier workload than he’s had so far:

Let’s get to the person everyone’s been waiting on and that’s Randy Gregory:

Of course, DeMarcus Lawrence only knows full speed ahead:

Coming off a game where the receivers put on a nice showing, Dak Prescott was out there slinging the rock:

Lance Lenoir schools Jourdan Lewis to come open downfield:

Michael Gallup was out there picking up where he left off, he’s certainly been one of the best parts of training camp:

I’ve been watching Michael Gallup for about 10 minutes straight, as the #Cowboys ran through route combos with two WRs, against two DBs. Every time Gallup did a rep, he saw the ball come his way. Always open. ..

During compete period, Dak is a little too high on this attempt to Ezekiel Elliott being covered by Leighton Vander Esch:

Every time you want to forget about Terrance Williams, he does something like this:

Lance Lenoir again the benefit of a Prescott pass:

Those are some dangerous feet you got there, Tavon Austin:

Allen Hurns on the slant is going to be a staple of this offense:

Just not a great throw for Cooper Rush, Leighton Vander Esch was ready for this interception:

Dan Bailey missed one kick but he made up for the one with six makes:

An update on punter Chris Jones... yep, still wielding out the punt-ishment:

Kavon Frazier came back out to practice but was just observing with a wrap on his leg:

The defense was back to their old tricks in 7-on-7’s as Dak has nobody to throw to:

Finally, Prescott to his buddy Lance Lenoir for the TOUCHDOWN in red zone period!

    — Mike Leslie (@MikeLeslieWFAA) August 12, 2018

Looks very similar to the catch Lenoir made for the score against the 49ers:

Lmao. Lance Lenoir. Dak rolled right in 7v7 and found Lenoir in the end zone for a falling, toe-touch TD similar to the one he caught against San Fran.

Lenoir has done something impressive in pretty much every practice out here #cowboyswire

Chaz Green did much better job in this rep against Taco Charlton than we’ve been seeing from him:

But this is Chaz Green we’re talking about, one step forward, one more step back:

Cowboys OL Chaz Green being carted off the practice field. Likely more cramping issues.

Connor Williams makes quick work of Daniel Ross but Ross seems to have hurt himself on the rep:

Jourdan Lewis ends practice on a high note as he jumps the slant route and picks it off!

Defense wins another one. Second-team defense gets off the field as Jourdan Lewis jumps a slant and picks off a ball that Cooper Rush was trying to throw to Ricky Jeune. #cowboyswire
