The Dallas Cowboys recently cleared a little space on their roster when they cut two cornerbacks, Terrance Mitchell and Brandon McGee. That brought the roster down to 88 players, but they have quickly filled the empty spots with two cornnerbacks. Dallas signed Isiah Frey and Dax Swanson.
This probably shuts the door on the Cowboys interest in Brandon Boykin who they worked out last week. You would think if they had any real interest, this would have been the time to put him on the roster and run him through minicamp to see what they got. Instead, the Cowboys picked up a couple of young guys who have a little experience, but not in the range of Boykin.
Isiah Frey was a sixth-round pick by the Chicago Bears in 2012. He actually started six games with the Bears, but was released in 2014 when he ended up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers then over to the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad. He's listed at 6' 0" and 190 pounds. Dax Swanson was an undrafted free agent in 2013 and has bounced around the NFL with six different teams. He is listed as 5' 11" and 195 pounds.
Terrance Mitchell, who the Cowboys cut a few days ago signed on with the Houston Texans.
