The Cowboys could be without one of their best players against Atlanta.
The Dallas Cowboys might have to play the Atlanta Falcons without a couple of their offensive stars. Ezekiel Elliott will miss the contest while serving the first game of his six-game suspension, and left tackle Tyron Smith may also miss the game. Smith was hurt at the tail-end of the Chiefs’ game, and hasn’t been able to practice all week. While that doesn’t necessarily preclude him from playing, it is usually a good indicator. It’s not his back, but his groin that is the problem.
Jason Garrett said LT Tyron Smith will be questionable for Sunday's game at Atlanta. Said he's made progress with his groin strain throughout the week ... but not enough to practice at all this week.

If Smith can’t go, then Chaz Green will likely see all the snaps at left tackle, something that could hurt in both the run and the passing game. Things will be a little bit harder for the Cowboys to get their offense humming if that is the case.
Dan Bailey and Geoff Swaim were also absent from today’s practice.
Cowboys TE Geoff Swaim injured his knee in practice Thursday, underwent an MRI, and won't practice today. His status up in air going forward.

But the good news is that Dez Bryant is practicing and has already said he’s playing on Sunday. Also, the Cowboys are starting to work tight end Rico Gathers back into the team.
Cowboys plan to integrate TE Rico Gathers back into team meetings next week and have him around team more as he works his way back from concussion that has kept him on IR all season.
