More roster moves.

The Dallas Cowboys have decided to go with someone they know at fullback, signing last year's starter, Tyler Clutts, to a one-year deal. Clutts helped the Cowboys offensive line open holes for DeMarco Murray in 2014, but this year it will be a new set of running backs who will follow Clutts into the line. In addition to his duties on offense, Clutts played a role on the special teams unit.

With the addition of the veteran Clutts, the Cowboys released another fullback, Jed Collins. They had signed Collins back in March. The Cowboys have been using the fullback less than they used to, but still like to keep one on the roster. In Jason Garrett's time as the head coach, the Cowboys have had one on the roster almost all of the time. Clutts did have one brief moment of glory last year, catching a touchdown pass in the playoff loss to Green Bay. He will still have to battle another free agent signee for a spot on the roster, the Cowboys signed fullback Ray Agnew in March.

With the release, Jed Collins no longer counts as a compensatory free agent, which could potentially bring the Cowboys compensatory picks in 2016 back up to four, as the table below shows.
