I don't see how Carr is going anywhere. We tried this last year and he didn't flinch.

Last year the team would only have saved 500K but cutting him, so his agent wisely dug in his heels. This year the salary numbers are stacked against him - badly.

Toruk thinks you just offered Tony Romo and a 7th for Aaron Rogers.

I think it will take more than that, mostly because elite pass rushers are scarce in the NFL. There are a lot of things working in the Cowboys favor, but I'm not sure we could get him that cheaply.

I still think his market is almost 0. Maybe a JAX or OAK throws some money at him and he can go play in anonymity but I doubt he wants to go thru the FA dance.

more than the money bringing in two starting CBs is very difficult. Patmon really hurt the team by not being able to handle slot. I don't see Mo coming back.

Yes this year is different. The Cowboys have the upper hand this time.

LOL! Every website that deals with contracts in any detail lists them as guaranteed money and incentives.

And why do you need any further detail? What I posted was enough for you to call it ridiculous and say it was like offering Romo and a 7th for Aaron Rogers.

Just admit you made a stupid post. I don't expect an apology but most of your posts are solid, you should stop digging when you are this deep in a hole.

What do you mean incentives?

What are you offering in the 1st 3 years?

What is the total value of the deal?

Do you know wha tthe Franchise Tag is for a DE this coming year?

Do you know any of this?

Do you know any of this?

LOL again! You have gone from saying this:

4 years and 20m guaranteed with incentives isn't a contract offer. And it's the weirdest way i've heard a contract listed.

To being a salary cap guru?

Just say you made a stupid post with a personal insult and move on. You look really foolish trying to dig this hole deeper.

BTW, Oh Cap Guru, Hardy can't be Franchise Tagged per his current contract (which is 95% incentives, but I'm sure you knew that). And the "total value" of most FA contracts is a meaningless figure because teams add voidable years to get the contract to five years and stretch out the cap hit of the signing bonus.

Silly questions, silly discussion.

I know that he can't be franchised.

Your a fool if you don't think that number influences negotiations.

Why won't you give a full contract offer for Hardy? That was the premise for your thread.

And I know that end of year numbers can be filler. It's precisely why I asked you for a 3 year take for Hardy. It is precisely why I asked you for day 1 take home for Hardy.

Would you like to answer any questions?

I don't think you can give Hardy a full offer.

He may not ever get back to where he was in CAR and the league is still looking to drop the hammer on him for any violation.

It will be interesting to see if any other teams show strong interest.

DAL would save 6.8m cutting Carr.

As a June 1st cut they would 9.1m with 2.7m dead money in 2017.

It is well worth the 9.1m in saved money and cap space to cut Carr. He adds nothing but tackles after the catch. We can get that for vet min.

Cut him and make him 1st on the list !!!!!!!!!!!!

So "only a fool" would not offer salaries comparable to JJ Watt and Mario Williams to Hardy? The guy with 5.5 sacks over the last two seasons? Who might have the worst PR profile of any player in the league at the moment?

You need to stop digging this hole and just admit you made a stupid post and a stupid insult. Man up.

I have to think they would, there are few impact pass rushers in the league and Dallas absorbed the bulk of the PR damage already. If Hardy went to team that wasn't in a major media market the media spotlight would be a lot less.

My quess on the contract would be the 4 years/ 20MM guaranteed like I said, with a breakout like this -

10 Million Signing Bonus
2.5 Million Guaranteed Salary for 4 years
Roster bonus of 4 Million each in years 2 - 4
Pro Bowl and Performance Incentives of 5 Million each year in years 2 - 4
Voidable 5th year to stretch the cap hit.

That limits the downside to Dallas to 20MM but give Hardy a shot at 12 Million per season.
