It’s odd how little Taco Charlton has been debated since the initial days of the draft, but the first-rounder knows he has to deliver for the Cowboys.
There are a lot of things seemingly going on in the world of Cowboys fans, and maybe that’s why debating the pick of Taco Charlton is a subject that’s been put on the back-burner.
It’s been said before here at BTB, and it very well may be true, that Taco Charlton has the lowest “he needs to be great!” emphasis circling him from fans as the team gets closer to training camp. While that may be the case, Taco himself knows that expectations are for him to have success fairly quickly in Dallas.
“I know the expectations are high for me from the outside, but also I make sure my expectations are high myself,” Taco told us at the National Fantasy Football Convention on Saturday.
“There’s really no pressure because I don’t put any pressure on myself, I just play football. I’m good at this game and I know what I can do. So it’s really just going out there, believing in my ability, and showing my game.”
This is a solid amount of confidence, and it’s something that you want to see in what you hope will become your team’s next great pass rusher. Considering the Cowboys are going to be without the services of David Irving for the first four games of the season, they’re going to need to lean even more heavily on Taco than they would an average person in his position.
