Sticking to a diet can be very lucrative in the NFL.

Did you think that Eddie Lacy was the only NFL player with a clause in their contract about how much they should weigh? Much has been made of the Seahawks running back making his weight to receive a bonus, but that was peanuts compared to what Cowboys offensive lineman Byron Bell got. Lacey picked up $55,000 for coming in under 250 pounds. Bell, meanwhile, picked up $150,000 for coming in under 320 pounds.

Bell has two more weigh-in sessions where he can bring his total bonus money up to $300,000. One weigh-in is at the start of training camp and another is right before the season starts.

On a serious note, Bell being in shape could prove important to the Cowboys. He would give them veteran experience along the offensive line, a guy who has started over 70 games in the NFL. Dallas used him mainly as a guard in the recent OTAs, but he can also play tackle. Bell could fight for the starting left guard position, or he could end up as a guard/tackle backup that would provide the Cowboys flexibility on game day.

Bell will be in a battle with guys like Chaz Green, Jonathan Cooper, Joe Looney, Emmett Cleary and a group of UDFA linemen to make the roster and attempt to get playing time. Of the five linemen specifically mentioned, who do you think will get the most playing time in 2017? Take the poll then hit the comments.
