Thursday's practice in preparation for the Green Bay Packers was without three key Cowboys.

The Cowboys returned to practice on Thursday but were without three members of the Hamstring Club for Men. Bruce Carter, Morris Claiborne and Dwayne Harris all missed practice with hamstring injuries. The Cowboys organization is doubtful that any of the three will play. Bruce Carter was having a rough stretch in the Bears game before being sidelined with injury. His play has fallen off precipitously this season and the recent game was no different. Bad angles, inability to get off blocks and general uninspired play has dogged Carter all year. Claiborne has not been as good as was predicted, but he would surely be an upgrade over rookie B.W. Webb. Webb has struggled as a rookie corner and was beat twice by Chicago receivers for touchdowns on Monday night. Dwayne Harris is one of the few Cowboys players who is exceeding expectations this year. He will be missed on special teams.

It's likely the Cowboys will slide Ernie Sims into Carter's spot, but may be better served getting DeVonte Hololoman some reps in the game if he can play. It might not be his natural spot, but the Cowboys need as many playmakers as they can get on the field. At least Holloman has shown some potential for making big plays. At corner, the Cowboys should turn to Sterling Moore instead of Webb in Claiborne's absence.

The good news is that Sean Lee practiced for the second straight day, meaning he's likely to play against the Packers.

The Cowboys activated defensive end Edgar Jones on of short-term IR yesterday. He has practiced the last two days and should be available for the game on Sunday.
