Just as we were getting used to the idea of DeMarcus Ware not suiting up on Sunday, he goes and throws us a curveball. It was generally accepted that Ware would miss this game, and likely a few more, before he could return from his quad injury. Yesterday, Ware claimed he is a game-time decision. Today it's pretty much the same except for the input of Jerry Jones who is being a bit more cautious with his star pass rusher.
"Nothing about him physically would surprise me," Jones said Friday on KRLD-FM. "We hope that if we are conservative -- and he'd be the first to tell you if this were the Super Bowl, he'd be playing in it unquestionably, or if this were frankly a key game at the end of the year -- but he and we want to look at the bigger picture, which is the season. So we probably are being and will be conservative there.
"But nothing surprises me. He's Superman."
Later today we'll get the last official injury designation for Ware this week. If it says questionable then maybe he can actually play. If it says doubtful, then he's probably not going to play. He hasn't practiced yet this week, he was out once again today. I'd guess the odds are slim the Cowboys will risk him this week but with Ware you can't count it out.
Miles Austin also sat out today but Jason Garrett confirmed it wasn't from a setback, they are just being cautious with his hamstring. He is expected to play on Sunday. Also missing from today's practice were DeMarco Murray and Lance Dunbar, along with DeVonte Holloman and Edgar Jones.
