Two big-time players for the Dallas Cowboys missed practice on Wednesday. Dez Bryant and Anthony Spencer both were doing work on the side today. Bryant missed practice due to some soreness in his back, something that bothered him late in the Kansas City game. But before you become concerned, check out this exchange between Jon Machota and Dez:
Dez Bryant: "My back's all right. Little sore." Playing Sunday? "Come on, man, you know I'm playing, what kind of question is that?"

Earlier in the day, coach Jason Garrett said he though Anthony Spencer would practice, but in the media portion of the practice Spencer was not on the field. Instead he was getting in some cardio work.
Both of these sound like the Cowboys are just being cautious, although with Spencer it's about getting him into game shape as well as nursing the knee along.
In good news, Ernie Sims returned to practice, at least to do rehab work in pads. Sims was having a very good preseason and was challenging Justin Durant for playing time. We'll see if he can get back into the playing time rotation.
